February Newsletter
Fabulous Februrary
We are so excited to see all of our little Bulldogs after the recent ice storms. We know it has been a tough time for everyone in our area. We hope all of our families are safe and have electricity, soon.
We hope you are excited about the progress your child has made so far this year. The Jimmy Brown Elementary staff are focused and committed to providing all students with a rigorous instructional program. Students are continuing to receive challenging learning opportunities on a daily basis, whether it is through accelerated instruction or additional support and extra practice.
It looks like winter has arrived. Please make sure that your child is appropriately dressed for outdoor recess. We go outside each day unless the feels like is below 40 degrees or it's rainy/wet.

Attendance Matters
Support your child to be successful in school. Help your child understand that school is their very first job!
What You Can Do-
- Make great school attendance a priority for your child.
- Talk to your child about the importance of daily attendance in every class and how it helps his/her learning.
- Students need to have a regular bedtime for a good night's sleep.
- Turn off electronic devices one hour before bedtime.
- When students miss so much school they will not be prepared for kindergarten, learning to read by third grade, failing courses in middle school and dropping out of high school.
