Community Support and Resources
Social Work Support: A list of outside resources and agencies to support families has been compiled by the Cabarrus County Schools School Social Workers. The list includes resources for food, internet, medical, housing, mental health, childcare, unemployment information and more. You can access all of this information here. Additionally, the Cabarrus County School Social Work Department has created a Facebook (and Facebook for Spanish-speaking families and Instagram page. They will be posting community events, resources, and more! Their hope for these accounts is to provide useful information for parents, staff, and the community.
CCS Student & Family Mental Wellness Forum: The RBM STEM SISP team is pleased to share that the CCS Student & Family Mental Wellness Forum will be held from 5pm-7pm at Jay M. Robinson High School on May 3rd. The evening will begin with our Keynote Speaker, Dr. Sonia Richardson, who is a subject matter expert on youth mental health. We will also have a facilitated panel discussion consisting of CCS mental health professionals across the district. After the discussion, all attendees are invited to visit with our 30+ registered community mental wellness and resource providers on site to learn about and connect with supportive services right here in Cabarrus County. There will also be food trucks on site and activities for school-aged children while parents connect and engage in the conversation.
