Principal's Message
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
I am so happy to be celebrating the first week of school with all of you. Tomorrow, our Kindergarten students will join their 1st-5th grade friends and, on Monday we will welcome our Preschool children to the building. This week we have been getting back into the routines and practices of school and it’s been both joyful and grounding to get back into the swing of things!
This week we also officially kicked off our school wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) focus. PBIS is a well known framework for explicitly teaching and reinforcing expected school behaviors and our staff and students have embraced the words Responsible, Inclusive, Safe, and Empathetic (RISE) as our guideposts for this school year. Over the next few weeks I will share more about PBIS and how we are making these traits and behaviors come alive at school.
I hope you have had a wonderful week and that you are able to enjoy a restful weekend ahead!
Warmly,
Amanda
PS- Our new gold and purple school shirts also showcase our RISE focus! We look forward to seeing all of our students in their gold shirts at our PTO sponsored Kona Ice party after school on Friday, August 19th! If your child received a Medium size shirt but could fit into a Large one, please bring it back to the main office and we will exchange it for them. We have run out of Mediums and we have plenty in the Large size.

Dean of Students' Message
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
We have had a fantastic first two days of school! There is so much joy and energy back in the building. We are excited to have everyone back!
I wanted to give you a couple of quick updates about morning arrival at Eagle Crest.
Each morning all students have the opportunity to come in and eat breakfast in the Cafeteria at 8:15am. They enter through the front office doors and the cost is $2.50. Just like hot lunches, money can be added to your child's account at MySchoolBucks
All other families start arriving at 8:20am. That is when our staff will be outside for supervision. During this time students are allowed to play on the playground as long as they follow our rules and expectations to be Responsible, Inclusive, Safe, and Empathetic.
Staff will blow the whistle at 8:33am and students will line up at their classroom doors. We will continue to welcome students into the building at each door until 8:40am. After that, all students can enter the building through the front office.
If your child will be absent, please give us a call at 303-485-6073. If we don't hear from you, our automated phone call will go out at 10:30am.
We look forward to many more amazing days throughout the school year!
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney

Kona Ice will be available for purchase after all ECES students have received their treat.

Introducing New Staff
Code of Conduct
Every year, St. Vrain Valley Schools prints an up-to-date version of the Code of Conduct for students and families to review. This important document informs students and school staff about the expectations for school conduct and the consequences for behaviors outside of those expectations. It is important that families review this information every year and acknowledge their receipt and understanding of this document.
Please click here to access an electronic version of the Code of Conduct. After you have reviewed this information, all families must sign an electronic acknowledgement that they have received, read, and understand the information contained. To sign your electronic acknowledgement, please follow the steps described here.
School Breakfast & Lunch
This year students will once again be charged for all school meals. Below you can find St. Vrain's breakfast and lunch prices for the 2022-2023 school year. ALL families can now apply for free and reduced lunch/fees. This process can be completed online and will not only reduce fees for meals, but there are also discounts on iPad insurance and other school-related fees for qualifying families. Apply for Free & Reduced Meals Today! If your child will be purchasing breakfast or lunch at school, you can register for the online payment account here at MySchoolBucks. If you need assistance completing this application or would rather complete a paper application, please reach out to us.
Additionally, if your child would like to purchase milk for their cold lunch, the price is .75 cents. You can add money to their MySchoolBucks to allow them to do that. We have water cups available for all students in the cafeteria, as well.
Arrival & Dismissal
A unique part of Eagle Crest is that we are a neighborhood community school and all families can walk, bike, or drive for arrival and dismissal. Help us keep everyone safe (and the flow efficient) by following these guidelines.
Arrival - Our first bell rings at 8:35 and outdoor supervision begins at 8:25. At 8:35 children can enter the building to access their classrooms. Our late bell rings at 8:40am. If a child arrives after this time, they must check in at the main office.
Walkers/Bikers - Families are welcome to walk students to their classroom doors between 8:20 and 8:35am. If you are driving to school, and want to walk your student to the classroom, please plan to park on Clover Basin Drive, and walk up. There is very limited parking in our staff lot and parking is not permitted in the Hug and Go.
Drivers - Families are also encouraged to use our Hug and Go drop off lane right in front of the main office. This is truly a “drive through experience” in which ECES staff will open your back door and help unload kids so that you can drive off and get on with your day. Drivers are asked to remain in their vehicles.
Dismissal - Our final bell will ring at 3:10pm and students will be dismissed through their classroom doors. Families are welcome to meet students at those doors. If you are driving for pick up, please park on Clover Basin to avoid congestion in front of the building.
iPad Insurance
We are excited to share that for the 2022-2023 school year SVVSD will continue to provide iPads for all K-5th grade students to use for learning at school and home! Preschool students will have access to classroom iPads. The iPads will all be refreshed, updated and ready for a ton of learning! Continuing this year, the SVVSD policy is K-5 families will need to purchase insurance in order to offset costs due to lost or damaged iPads. The district offers iPad insurance for $25/year for each student. We believe that every student at Eagle Crest should opt-in to have iPad insurance as a safety-net for any damage or loss. In order to opt into the district insurance and be covered, you must pay at least a portion of the $25 fee. You can find out more details about the coverage in the links below. The fees are available to pay online in your student’s REV TRAK account, or you can bring payment directly to Eagle Crest.
