MISSION STATEMENT
PTO NEWS
PTO Meeting 3/7 @ 4:15 Primary Library
Parent Teacher Conferences Staff Dinner: PTO will be providing Hog Wild Pit BBQ for our staff on Wednesday, March 9th. Please watch your email for a Sign Up Genius to donate some desserts or drinks. Thank you!
Spring Book Fair Dinner: Watch for more information to come about volunteering to help with our Spring Book Fair Dinner on the evening of Monday, March 28th.
Amazon Teacher Wish Lists: Want to help provide things for the classrooms but don’t know what teachers need? We have set up a wish list for each of our teachers to fill out as they have needs through Amazon. If you are interested, please see our PTO Facebook page.
BOXTOPS!! Since the Boxtop company has switched from clipping BoxTops to scanning your receipt through their app, we have seen a drastic decrease in participation. PLEASE consider downloading the APP and taking the time to scan your receipt when you shop! It’s super simple and helps our schools a lot!
Thank you for all your support! It really does MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
KINDERGARTENERS FOR 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR
Library News from Mrs. Smith
In February, love was in the air in the “libräre” (3rd grade’s “fancy” word for the library)! Check out these fun snapshots from kindergarten and pre-K lessons…
Kindergartners heard the story Love Monster and then Pre-K made lions out of hearts after listening to the story
made the main character. My Heart Is Like a Zoo.
Now it’s time to turn our attention to March and with March comes March Book Madness–a fun reading/voting event involving students from all over the United States and even as far away as Saudi Arabia. The event is an online, bracket-style tournament modeled after the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament. Books go head-to-head in match-ups decided by students’ votes. I have been introducing the books to our students for the past several weeks and the first round of voting will begin next week! Our 3rd graders will be voting on the picture book bracket and our 4th-6th graders will be voting on the middle grade novels.
March will also see the return of the SPRING BOOK FAIR!!! It will be held at both schools the week of March 28th-April 1st. Be on the lookout for more information to come home sometime after spring break, but go ahead and mark your calendars for Book Fair Family Night on Monday, March 28th!
Happy Reading!
