Hero Hangout is this Friday!!

  1. Reminder for students to bring money for the Hangout on Friday. Tickets will be sold for $1 and students will be able to buy snacks and snow cones from Shave the Planet. (all snacks are $1.00 and snow cones will be $3).
  2. We are looking for volunteers to help at the hangout as well as donations for the event. Parents can signup by going to the following links:

  3. We will be awarding prizes for costumes on Friday. The categories are: best overall costume, funniest costume and most creative costume.

Thanks for your support!

We had a great time celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness month and some survivors at Hellstern! Students had a "pink out" on Thursday and raised $377 for METAvivor on Friday's Hat Day.

Visit with an Entomologist

Click here to read about this visit and see some pictures. Last week a primetime group of 30 interviewed Internationally Awarded Entomologist, working with invasive species, Dr. Carey Minteer from the University of Florida. Dr. Minteer is also a former Razorback!
She took students on a tour of the entomology lab, the "bug" rooms, and offices; shared with them about her use of special insects to help respond to invasive species of plants, showed them some break-dancing beetles, and answered all of their bug and education related questions.
It was FABULOUS!

We are going to have some teachers run this route. Please have your students at the bus stop by 8am. Your student will come a little late and have to leave a little early.

SHE Can Aviation Camp
