Elementary Music Teachers Earn State Recognition
The D303 Elementary General Music PLC was honored for its contributions to education as a part of the Illinois Sate Board of Education's (ISBE) Those Who Excel & Teacher of the Year Awards last spring. The annual awards celebrate those who have made lasting impacts on the students, families and fellow educators in their school communities.
We are so proud to have two BG staff members be included in this team award last spring. Congrats to Mr. Carter (current BG music teacher) and Lydia Kasap (former BG music teacher)! Mr. Carter just received his framed recognition and is displaying it proudly in class.
Outdoor Clothing
Please be sure to send your child with appropriate outdoor clothing for recess. Students have outdoor recess unless the outside temperature is below 0.
Please label your child's jacket, gloves, hat, etc. whenever possible. It helps us return items to their owner when they end up in lost & found.

Fall Spirit Week
Fall Party Costumes on 10/31
Students will be permitted to wear costumes at school on 10/31, our fall party day.
Below are the details that will assist students, teachers, and families in making the best decision for each individual child. Please know, we recognize that not all students WANT to wear a costume to school. Within the details provided, we have given suggestions for students who do not want to wear a costume for personal reasons. We support all students in the decisions they make for themselves regarding participation in dressing up.
Details:
- Students may come to school wearing their costumes on Friday 10/31. Students will not have the opportunity to change into or out of their costume at school. Students will be wearing their costumes all day. Please think about students sitting in these costumes all day, using the washroom, attending recess and specials.
- No costume masks, no makeup, no inflatable costumes. Costumes must be appropriate for school (no blood, gore, weapons, or accessories).
- Throughout the week of October 23, Student Council will be hosting a Spirit Week. Each day will have a different clothing theme (examples could include: crazy hair day, hat day, etc). Tuesday October 31, will be a BG Spirit Day as well for anyone who would rather participate in the Spirit Day versus wearing a costume.
- Each grade level has determined what time their class party will be. Classroom teachers will work directly with their Head Room Parents to coordinate details. Watch for updated party information from your Head Room Parent!!!
- No food is permitted at Fall Classroom Parties. No food is allowed in goodie bags as well.
- We will not hold a costume parade.
Volunteer Process
We appreciate our volunteers and value your time. When you are in the building for any reason, please be respectful of classroom instruction and do not make unexpected visits to your child's classroom. Thank you for helping us minimize classroom disruptions.

RESCHEDULED FALL FEST - 10/27
Due to the rain forecasted, we made the hard decision to move Fall Fest to Friday, October 27th. Please cross your fingers for beautiful weather!!! We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and your families. If you haven't purchased your wristbands yet, you have more than enough time.
Wristbands will be sold at $15 for children and $10 for adults, children 2 and under are free. Wristbands will be given out at the day of the event upon check in. https://bell-graham-pto.square.site/ Wristband sales will close on 10.25.
Please note this IS NOT a drop off event. All children will need to be chaperoned with their families or an adult they were brought with.
In order to make this event a success we are going to need all of your help and support. Please consider signing up to donate items needed for the Fall Fest as well as volunteers needed to help set up, run stations and help take down after the fest is over. We appreciate all of your help and support! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090F4FA5AB2DA0FF2-fall1
Please consider donating baked goods the week of 10.27. Our cake walk is one of our most popular events and we cannot make it happen without the help from all of you. Committee members will be standing out front of BG during the mornings at drop off and the afternoons at pick up to collect any delicious spooky treats. You can also drop off any items at the school at any time. Lastly, to save you time, you can also purchase baked goods from Windy Acres. https://windyacresfarmstand.com/fall-fundraising/bell-graham-elementary-school-fall-fundraiser/ All you need to do is add your item to the cart and mention in your notes section that you would like your baked goods donated to the cake walk for the day of the Fall Fest.
Windy Acres will also be running their train all night long for unlimited rides for all of the children of all ages. Thanks to one AMAZING BG family, they have decided to sponsor the train at the Fall Fest this year. This is an attraction that is usually not offered. A HUGE THANKS to the Gonzalez Family. Please take a moment to reach out and support their company. Blondies Beef, www.blondiesbeef.com

Car Tags
For car riders, we use a Visor Tag System. Each family should have received a car tag that has the family last name and the class codes of students in the family. The use of this visor tag expedites our car rider line tremendously as staff members are able to get students ready for their cars as the cars pull up! Please display the tag on your passenger side visor, or passenger side window, so that it is visible to the BG staff as you pull through the pick-up line.
If you need additional visor tags, please email Mrs. Kirincich.

Big Hearts of Fox Valley
For the 10th year in a row, D303 is again partnering with Big Hearts of Fox Valley, which supports families in need during the holiday season. Big Hearts of Fox Valley Holiday Giving Program's purpose is to provide holiday gifts for D303 students and their younger siblings whose families face significant financial hardship. Through Big Hearts, members of the D303 community anonymously shop for wish list items. D303 social workers will review applicants. If you are struggling and facing significant financial hardship and would like assistance providing holiday gifts to your children, click here. If you would like to help Big Hearts by "adopting" a child this Holiday season, click here. You can visit the Big Hearts of Fox Valley website for more information.
