Back to School!

Great Hollow Middle School welcomed all students and staff back to school on September 6! We hope everyone had an enjoyable and restful summer with family and friends. We wanted to extend a big WELCOME to our incoming 6th grade students and say WELCOME BACK to our returning 7th and 8th grade classes. We know this year will be filled with great experiences that you will remember forever! Be on the look out for our monthly e-newsletters in order to keep up with everything happening at Great Hollow Middle School.

Darcy is Back!

Great Hollow is proud to announce the return of Darcy, our school therapy dog. Darcy will be available to all students and staff throughout the year. If you see Darcy in front of the school, in the hallway, or in class, please stop and say HELLO!

Lace Up for Childhood Cancer

Great Hollow Middle School Laced Up for Childhood Cancer Awareness on September 16, by wearing gold shoe laces, gold clothing, and accessories.

Meet The Teacher Nights

6th, 7th, and 8th grade parents were eager to attend our Meet The Teacher Nights on September 12th, 19th, and 21st. Parents followed their child's program using a modified bell schedule.

Picture Day

6th, 7th, and 8th grade students flashed new haircuts and neatly pressed shirts and dresses on September 20th and 21st for picture day at GHMS.

GHMS Sports!

Fall sports are up and running at GHMS! Come support any of our teams after school by watching them compete against Accompsett, Nesaquake, and many other middle schools. The following list includes some of the fall sports playing right now: soccer, cross country, field hockey, and football.

GHMS PTA Meeting

GHMS held their first PTA meeting on September 14th in Cafeteria East. Our PTA President, Lara Pirone, discussed the goals of the Board, events planned for the upcoming weeks and months, along with ways to make this a special school year for our students. If you are looking to speak to Lara or to contact the PTA, please email them at ghmspta@yahoo.com.

Coaches vs. Cancer

October 6th - Great Hollow Middle School

Coaches vs. Cancer will be making a return to Great Hollow this year in memory of alumni, Chase Turano. The event will be held on Thursday, October 6th. Boys and Girls Soccer as well as our football team, have scheduled games. Our Kickline and Cheerleaders along with High School West Cheerleaders will be performing.

Red Ribbon Week

October 23 - October 31

Red Ribbon Week takes place each year from October 23rd through the 31st. Join us in our MISSION to help keep kids drug-free and our schools bully-free. Anti drug and bullying activities will be scheduled throughout the week to raise awareness and educate our students.
