President's message
First, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came to participate in and help put on another wonderful NCBCC Specialty! Without everyone's help we would never be successful. In case you missed it, we dedicated this year's specialty to longtime member and webmaster, Annette Renard. Her husband David and good friend Lynne Corn joined us to help with hospitality and take a moment to honor her memory.
This year we changed things up in the fundraising department and began what we hope will become an annual basket raffle. We had lots of tickets sold and heard many wonderful comments about the fantastic baskets that were created and donated. We would not have been able to offer such a lovely raffle without the donations received. Thank you!
Congratulations to all the winners. It's always wonderful to see such a collection of our breed gathered together.
May and June bring us two fun events. The first is the Mid-Maryland Celtic Festival in Mt. Airy, MD on Saturday, May 13th from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. NCBCC will once again have a tent set up to participate. This event counts toward our public education requirement to continue affiliation with the AKC. We hope you'll come out and join us--and bring your beardies! Free parking is available and you will be allowed to park in the field in the back of the dog area as long as you are parked by 8:30 am on Saturday morning. If you park in the back of the dog area your car will be blocked in until the event ends at 6:00 pm, however there's lots of parking around the fairgrounds that won't be blocked in. Please let us know if you plan to attend--the more the merrier! http://www.midmarylandcelticfestival.com/
In June NCBCC's annual herding trial returns! Join us on June 10-11 at Scarlett's Mill Farm in Birdsboro, PA. David Fruehwald is leading this event and is looking for volunteers--strong knowledge of herding events not required! There are many easy to learn jobs to help with. For more information and instructions for entering please visit http://www.ncbcc.net/calendar/herding/
We hope this message finds you well. As always, any questions, comments, or concerns, please reach out to us!
