Smiley Thoughts

Free and reduced lunch - Please either return your free and reduced lunch form or fill it out online: https://www.mealappnow.com/mantyl/splash.php

Tyler Film Fest - I am the director of the 2023 Tyler Film Festival. We are letting all of the local schools know that any student can attend the Tyler Film Festival for free by showing a valid school ID. The event starts on September 7 at 7 p.m. with our Young Filmmakers Night which is to most family-friendly night. September 8th and 9th are for Texas Shorts and Everywhere Else, which are more like a PG13 movie with a little violence and cursing, but nothing extremely offensive. Please let me know if there is anyone else I need to pass this information on to. If you need more information about the event, visit tylerfilmfest.com.

Campus texts - If you are not receiving the campus text messages, please text “start” to 98900 to begin getting messages again.

Assemblies - We had grade level assemblies where we discussed MANY different things. As guardians, I want you to know these are the topics we covered so you can follow up with your Husky:

  • Cell phones - We are going to follow the cell phone policy this year. You can find it in the Hubbard Guardian Handbook. Please remind your students their phones should be off and in their backpack during the instructional day.
  • Tardies - morning tardies count! Students need to be in their classrooms at 8:20a.m. Each week we will run a tardy report and assign consequences for those students that can't make it to class on time.
  • Dress code - Again, this can be found in the Hubbard Guardian Handbook and has been one of our biggest fights. We desperately ask for your assistance in making sure your students are in dress code so we can keep them in class.
  • Lunches - On Monday, students will have free seating in the cafeteria. We will assess how that is going with each grade level independently. We don't want to go back to assigned seating, but that depends on behaviors.
  • Chromebooks - Every key stroke on your child's chromebook is tracked by software that reports activity to the district. Please make sure they understand safe searching.
  • Vapes and fighting - The state of Texas is taking vapes so serious that possession is now an automatic DAEP (district alternative education program) placement. If students are caught with vapes or are fighting, we will remove them from campus. Please coach your students on this.

Student Walkers - Do you have a student that walks to and from school? Here are some Tips for Walking to/from School for you to check out.

"Tin Can Cafe" - Cinnamon Rolls and Chicken Spaghetti

The two young men below delivered me the most delicious cinnamon rolls I have ever had! I had to call and gripe at my mother for never having made them this good! Then today, the whole class delivered delicious chicken spaghetti to all of our teachers who put in an order. Ms. Lawson does a wonderful job teaching our students valuable skills they will use the rest of their life while also treating the PACK staff. You can check out the "Tin Can Cafe" on facebook!

Pink on Wednesday?
