A Note from Mrs. Lake & Mrs. Gross
Welcome back! We recognize that many in our community have been affected by the storms that came through late Friday night and early Saturday morning. If your family is in need of resources due to damage from the storm, please contact our school and ask to speak to our counselor, Shannon Sedgwick.
These last two months of school tend to go quickly! Kindergarten registration will be Wednesday, April 12, from 3:30-6:00 p.m. If you have a child that is or will be five before August 1, please contact us for an appointment. Please share with neighbors, friends, and families! You can begin the registration process online by clicking on this link.
Registration is open for all Students for the 2023-2024 school year. We need families to complete registration annually to make sure we are staffed appropriately and to make sure we have the most up-to-date contact numbers in case of emergencies. Here is the link to get started.
ILearn testing for students in grades 3-5 will begin on Tuesday, April 18, and continue through Friday, April 28. Please try to avoid appointments and absences during this time for third, fourth, and fifth graders. We will have the week of May 1 for make-ups if necessary.
We will be having our field day on Wednesday, May 24! Primary students (K-2) will participate from 12:30-2:30 p.m, and Intermediate students (3-5) will participate from 9:15-11:15 a.m. Parents will be welcome to attend and rotate stations with their child. Due to helping with the students, we are requesting that younger siblings not attend. If you have any questions regarding field day, please contact Mr Kendall. (tkendall@cpcsc.k12.in.us)
We will be having awards day in person on the final day of school, Friday, May 26th. Please make plans to attend! This is the schedule for when the grade levels will have their program in the gym. Due to Awards Day, we will not be inviting visitors for lunch.

Car Rider Information & Reminders
To improve traffic flow during arrival and dismissal at GCES, we would like families of GCES students to enter school grounds off of Worthsville Road onto Palmore Way (first entrance to CPMS.) Then take your first left before the tennis courts (turn left/west). Continue on the access road to the end of the sidewalk on the north side adjacent to door 8.. Staff members will walk out door 8 to welcome students into the building at 8:50. We will no longer use the front of the building for drop off. Cars should continue on straight to exit the lot.
Clark-Pleasant Early Learning Center is a part of GCES, and their arrival time is 8:45. These families will enter off Sheek Road and line up fro drop off in the front of the building. (Early Learning Center car rider information)
If students arrive after 9:05 a.m., an adult will need to park and sign their student in at the front office.
Car rider families should enter the same way for afternoon car rider pick up, but stop at the corner that leads to the front drive. A staff member will come out at approximately 3:50 to dismiss students. Students will exit out of door 4. Cars should pull up to the flag pole once dismissal begins.
ATTENTION: Parents of students that go to after school daycare!
If your student attends a daycare that is within our GCES boundary, you will need to complete an "alternate bus stop" form in order for your child to be dropped off at the correct stop. You can access that form here or contact our transportation office at 317-535-7255.
