Abby Bennet made the top 20 in her section in the District audition and will have the opportunity to audition for State on Nov. 6, 2021. State Honor choir performs at the MMEA music conference in January. Congratulations and Good Luck!

The Speech and Debate Club is participating in a Virtual Tournament this weekend at Parkway West. Good Luck Cougars!

Varsity Girls Volleyball is on a 3 game win streak beating McCluer North, Notre Dame and Hazelwood West, all in straight sets. Home games Monday and Tuesday next week. Come out and help cheer on the Cougars!

Every week, Coach Sinamon sends out a weekly update to the team and their families. This week, I thought it was important to share her good news the AHS Community. Below is a bit of what was shared:

We are proud of every individual on the team for a variety of reasons. These aren’t all of the reasons, but Coach Mac and I wanted to share some positivity. We are proud of the whole team for creating positive relationships with one another and thinking about their “why” throughout the season. I will share general notes now- but know we are proud of way more things than what is included here.

• Abagale- We are proud of the work you’ve put in the last 4 years to make the team better and positive for all.

• Mia- We are proud of your work the last 4 years and your calm consistent pitching game after game.

• Alyssa- We are proud of how you hold down the outfield and work to help your other outfielders.

• Emma- We are proud of how hard you work and how humble you are.

• Ainsleigh- We are proud of your willingness to help all teammates and your drive to constantly improve and learn.

• Amber- We are proud of how you’ve opened up this year and how you’ve improved on your communication with the coaches and teammates.

• Cali- We are proud of your goofy, positive attitude and how it contributes to the dugout/team.

• Mel- We are proud of how you always ask questions and want to learn and do the best for yourself and others.

• Trystan- We are proud of how much progress and how many improvements you’ve made as a player.

• Holly- We are proud of you for suiting up and catching game after game, being a wall behind the plate.

Picture day will be Thursday, October 14, in the Auditorium. If you have not yet had your picture taken, you may do so on that day. Watch your email for your scheduled time.

Tryouts for Winter Sports are fast approaching on November 1, for Boys/Girls Basketball and Wrestling. November 8, for Girls Swim. To be elegible to try out, you must submit a current physical (dated 2/1/21 or after), and fill out all necessary paperwork thru Healthy Roster. If you have not created a Healthy Roster account yet, please fill out the form at the below link. Please allow one week to receive an "invite" to create an account. If you have created a Healthy Roster account, and forgot your password, DO NOT TRY TO CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT. Hit "forgot password"

Once all documents are uploaded into Healthy Roster, the student may obtain a BLUE CARD from Becky Stigen, Athletic Trainer. Blue Card Distribution for Winter Sports will be on

October 28, and October 29, after school in the Athletic Training Room. You will not be allowed to try out unles you receive a Blue Card. If you played a fall sport, you will still need to get a new Blue Card to play a Winter Sport (you will not need to upload and sign documents again).

Fall Athletic Fees are $25 for the 2021-22 school year. This fee covers all three seasons at AHS. For those participating in a fall sport, there has been a $25 athletic fee added on their Tyler account This will need to be paid through the parents' Tyler account before the winter season. Students will not be allowed to participate in future sports until this fee is paid. All fines/fees will need to also be paid for seniors before they can graduate.
