PRINCIPAL UPDATE
We had a great week including some "Conferences on the Road" and ending with Trunk or Treat. Many of our wonderful teachers traveled to meet parents and guardians outside their homes on Wednesday afternoon. We had translators available and some of our amazing fifth grade ambassadors served as hosts and escorted families to teachers. This was a well attended event and we are so grateful to our staff for making conferences accessible to some of our families. A special thank you to Ms. Caruso for coordinating the event and to Mrs. Ferraro, Mrs. LaForest and Mrs. Platt for supporting our fifth grade ambassadors.
Trunk or Treat was a huge success. Thank you to all who attended and a special thank you to the "Boo Crew" who planned and set up for this fun-filled event. Please see the PTO section below for details, including trunk winners and raffle winners.
We have included some pictures of "Conferences on the Road" and Trunk or Treat below.
*****Monday is Halloween. We do not celebrate Halloween in school. Please do not send children to school in costumes or with candy. Again, no costumes and no candy in school. Thank you for your cooperation!

PANORAMA SURVEY
Waltham families,
This year, your child's school partnered with Panorama Education to survey families about your experiences and perceptions at this school. Your responses will remain completely confidential, which means that no one at this school will ever see your individual responses. Panorama Education is managing this process to ensure security.
The results of this survey will help your child’s school administrators better understand the perceptions of families at your school. Survey data will be used by administrators to identify strengths and areas for growth.
To complete your survey, please click the following link:
https://surveys.panoramaed.com/waltham/fall22family.
If you have trouble accessing the online survey, please contact Panorama at support@panoramaed.com.
Thank you for your participation and for being a valued member of your school community.
***Students in Grades 3-5 will be participating in the Panorama Student Survey. Opt-out forms were sent home last week and should have already been returned to the school if you did not want your child to participate in the survey.
BRANDEIS SPECTRUM
Please see the information about a Brandeis program:
We are a volunteer group affiliated with Brandeis University’s Waltham
Group who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of
children with developmental disabilities and their families.
YMCA
CELL PHONES/SMART WATCHES/ELECTRONIC DEVICES
We would appreciate family support with this.
"Students are not permitted to bring radios, headsets, video games, or similar equipment to
school. If students bring cell phones to school for communication purposes, they are to be put away and not shared or used at school. The first such offense will lead to confiscation of the equipment for the day. Repeat offenses may lead to confiscation until the end of the school year."
To be clear, cell phones, smart watches, and electronic devices are not allowed at school. Same as a cell phone, if a student has a smart watch for communication purposes, it must be kept in the student's backpack until they are off of school property (or off the school bus).
