Principal's Message
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
Well we came back from Fall Break and it really feels like the new season has arrived in SW Longmont. The trees along Clover Basin are bright and colorful, and the cool morning temps paired with the warm afternoons are classic Fall weather for our area. While we are pulled to spend our time enjoying the fresh air outside, we also have a lot of teaching and learning to attend to inside the classrooms!
Please read below for some updated information about family volunteers and our upcoming Halloween parade. It’s fun and exciting to be planning for these heartwarming Eagle Crest community traditions.
I hope that you have an enjoyable weekend!
Warmly,
Amanda

Dean of Students' Message
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
We often talk a lot about how amazing our teachers are at Eagle Crest, and we don’t always get the chance to highlight the other staff members in our building that are essential to our success. Next week, we will be honoring our Classified Employees who also have a significant impact on your child’s education. From our custodians, kitchen, library, and office staff, to our instructional paraprofessionals in kindergarten, preschool and special education, Eagle Crest is full of caring adults who help make our school a great place to learn and grow. Please help us recognize these staff members next week for all they do and mean to our school!
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney
PS- Please join us in congratulating Joan Beckett, our Media Tech & Librarian who is being honored with an Outstanding Classified Staff Award from the district! Joan brings kindness, warmth, curiosity, and a love of reading to our students. We’re so grateful for her dedication to our school and our students!

School Volunteer Training and Update
We are excited to welcome volunteers back into our building this school year. Family volunteers are a part of the rich tradition in our community focused school, and we are eager to have volunteers back in a safe and supportive way.
Our whole staff has been involved in discussions about how to involve families in meaningful ways that support student learning and help to lighten the load for teachers. This year, we will be offering volunteer training. This training will be required for adults who would like to volunteer in our classrooms. It will be an opportunity for us to review safety protocols, confidentiality expectations, and some of the routines and procedures in place to help everything run smoothly.
We have three dates (see below) scheduled for this Fall, and we will have some additional dates available in the Spring.
November 2nd - 2:30pm - ECES Library
November 4th - 9:15am - ECES Library
November 10th - 6:00pm - Webex Link (Password: Jpd57sWjBe9)
Classroom teachers will begin reaching out with their volunteer needs through their regular newsletters. When we have opportunities to help in the library, Specials classes, or other areas of the school we will share those opportunities in this weekly newsletter.

Halloween Parade
We are looking forward to our annual Halloween Parade! We are planning to host our parade on Monday, October 31st at 2:15pm. The students will make a full lap around the school in their costumes while we all celebrate the return of this fun tradition. All families are welcome to join us as we march outside around the school.
All students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to school and should plan to arrive with the full costume on and ready to go. Costumes must be school appropriate and not interfere with the learning environment. Please do not send students with anything violent (weapons, blood, etc.), or costumes that could be a safety hazard since we will be marching. Blow up costumes and masks can only be worn during the parade. Individual teachers will send information home regarding classroom celebrations.

Lunch Menu & Color Day Schedule
Our Music, PE, and Art classes are on a 3 day rotation. Every school day is either a Red, Gold, or Purple day. These colors are shared on our school lunch menu to help families plan ahead for necessary supplies like sneakers for PE.
Add Money to your Child’s School Breakfast & Lunch Account
MySchoolBucks is the website you want to access in order to add funds to your child’s account for purchasing breakfast, lunch, or milk at school. This system will send you reminders and can manage the account of multiple students. Money can also be sent to school by check or cash. Please label any checks or cash with the students first name, last name, and teacher.
If you haven’t yet, you can apply for Free & Reduced meals to see if your family qualifies for free meals. Applying for Free & Reduced lunch will help manage fees (like iPad Insurance or sports) and also helps our school receive additional funds and services. We encourage all families to complete the application.
