We are off to an amazing start of the school year! Students have been busy learning the school expectations in the classrooms and in all of the common areas of our school. These are known as our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). As a school community, we focus on four main values. They are honesty, kindness, respect and responsibility.

This year we will continue to implement the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports) framework throughout the school. This is a process for creating school environments that are more predictable and effective for achieving academic and social goals. A key strategy of the PBIS system is prevention. The majority of students follow the school's expectations, but are never acknowledged for their positive behavior. Through instruction, discussion, and regular practice, all teachers and staff members will use a consistent set of behavior expectations and rules. Be on the look out for a PBIS Parent Brochure, which will be sent home next week!

I am so very impressed with the children at HDES. Every day I observe children being kind to each other and trying to do their very best.

Our annual Day of Caring is today! K-12 Hall-Dale students will be working on projects for the local community. Students have been working hard and showing great effort on their projects with their classroom teachers!

Hall-Dale Key Club's Annual Trunk or Treat at Hall-Dale High School on Saturday, October 26th from 5:00-6:30 PM!!

This event supports UNICEF.

There are many items that have piled up on our lost and found table. Please have your child take a look and see if any of the items may be theirs.

Health Reminder

With the flu season creeping up on us, this is just a quick reminder to keep your child home when he/she is sick. Your child may return to school when he/she is free from vomiting, diarrhea, or fever for 24 hours. He/she must be fever free for 24 hours without the aid of medicine before they can return to school. If you have any questions feel free to contact the school nurse.

Our Annual Flu Clinic is scheduled for November 6th.

Mrs. Clark was presented with a $700 donation for our school from Mrs. Donna Gilbert today! The donation comes from Mrs. Gilbert's Hallowell High School Class of 1959, and the class president, Mr. William Webb. This wonderful gesture reflects their appreciation for the education that the class received through the Hallowell (now Hall-Dale) school system.

HDES Craft and Vendor Fair Fundraiser: Saturday, November 23 from 9am - 1pm in the HDES Cafeteria. All money raised will go to the Hall Dale Elementary School food pantry backpack program. Crafters, vendors, raffle and bake sale! Vendor space is still available! $30 vendor fee and registration is at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TWDMJMJ.

Just a reminder that you can now apply for Free/Reduce lunch on line!

Also, you can fill out the application anytime during the school year if your income or needs change.

Secure online process ensures no one see's any of your information other than the Food Service Director. And you no longer have to send the form in to school with your child, ensuring security and privacy. If you need help or access to a computer, please let me know and I will be happy to help you. A paper application is still available for you to submit if you do not have access to a computer. You do NOT have to apply on line if you so chose.

Yoga club will be held on Wednesdays, starting October 16th through November 20th. It will be held after school until 4:30pm. Bus transportation will be provided from the school to Panacea Yoga Studio. The cost is $60. Full/partial scholarships are available if needed.
