Dear LGTH Staff,

Summer is finally here! Well, not officially, but the weather has indeed warmed up! Just a reminder when going to the park - please make sure you are putting sunscreen on your kiddos and that you are all staying hydrated.

We really need to get started on planting our rooftop garden. If you have any suggestions - or would like to help out, please let one of the directors know. We want to make our space even more beautiful!

Upcoming Events:

• Donuts with Dads: We will be hosting Donuts with Dad on Monday, June 17th in honor of Father's Day. This is a nice opportunity for father's and their children to grab a donut, sit down in the classroom, and take a moment to talk and be together. Please let us know as soon as possible if you need any supplies for father's day projects/gifts!
• Ice Cream Social: We will be having a school wide Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, June 19th. This is a fun event for our kiddos to grab some ice cream and chill out! Details to come soon.

Always remember that your directors are here to support you. Whether you have an idea, suggestion or just need to chat, our doors are always open ~

June 'Employee Of The Month' is.....*drum roll please*...

Ms. Xiomara

Xio is the Lead Toddler Teacher in the Cherry room. Since stepping into the lead position, Xio has consistently impressed us with her fun, creative and messy lesson plans she does with her kiddos. There is never a dull moment in the Cherry room!

We're so proud of you, Xio! Way to go!

• Time Off: We can accommodate 3 teachers off a day. Please give as much notice as possible when requesting time off.
• Cell Phone Policy: As a reminder all cell phones must be stored out of sight during the workday. One teacher may take photos for the Instagram account. Photos should be uploaded during appropriate times such as: lunch break, after work, or while children are napping. Teachers should not be uploading photos while children are awake and present. Remember, our goal as a school is to facilitate the growth and development of each child in our care. We know that we have one of the most dedicated, caring, and creative staffs in the city of Chicago. Don't let inappropriate cell phone usage influence the way people view you as educators.
• Blackout Days: Please view the calendar in the staff lounge for the most up-to-date blackout dates. We cannot always guarantee each request, but we will do our best.

Cool Moves:

Shameka is the newest addition to our team! Shameka is the Assistant in the Sycamore classroom, with Brynn and Liz. She has been working in ECE for just under two years, and is excited to continue learning here at LGTH. We are happy to have you!

Dasheena has switched roles and is now the Lead Teacher in the Peach Classroom. We are certain you will do great things!
