Hello Parents,
This will be the final 23-24 3rd grade newsletter. I wanted to take a moment to thank you for sharing your children with us this past year. It's been a pleasure having them in our classes and the growth we have seen has been amazing!
As the school year comes to a close, I want to extend my best wishes to you and your child for a successful year ahead. While we will miss having your child in our classes, we are excited to see what the future holds for them.
If you ever need anything or have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you again for your support and involvement this year.

Third Grade Team
End of Year Party
End of the year party will be Wednesday 22nd at 9AM. Please reach out to your child teacher for their sign up genius. We will eat breakfast and then have fun outside. Students may bring sidewalk chalk, bubbles, frisbees, balls. This day is an early release at 12:00PM (Noon)

We are done with spelling for the year. We will continue to review through out the remainder of the month

NEW TEST TYPE
Spelling tests are going to look different going forward. We will be transferring them over to computer for a more concrete practice. Students will have proof-reading passage that they will be correcting with spelling word. The students will have to correctly combined sentences. There will be words from the list and new words that follow the pattern, high frequency words, and words from a prior list. Since they will be on the computer you won't see spelling test come home. Grades will be in the gradebook though.
End of the Year Special Events
Upcoming 3rd Grade Special Events
Monday 5/20: Board Game Day & End of Year Awards @ 2:00
Students may bring their favorite board or card game from home. We will have Awards at 2 PM in the Cafeteria.
Tuesday 5/21: Camping in the Classroom Day!
Students may bring any of the following items to school: flashlight, battery powered lantern, books, board games, small stuffed animal or pillow. (If you have an easy pop-up tent that you wouldn’t mind donating for the day you are welcome to send one in for the kids to enjoy. Students need to be able to pack, setup, and unpack themselves their tent if brought)
Wednesday 5/22: Fun in the Sun End of the Year Party Party will be from 9-10 set up at 8:30
We will be celebrating our year today. We will eat breakfast and then have fun outside. Students may bring sidewalk chalk, bubbles, frisbees, balls. Today is an early release. Dismissal will be at 12:00. No backpacks needed
Thursday 5/23: Memory Book Day and Movie Day
If they have their yearbooks, they may bring them this day to be signed by classmates. Students can bring a stuffed animal. We will enjoy a popcorn snack and watch a movie together. LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!! Dismissal will be at 12:00.
No backpacks needed
Please have your students present for these days. Although we have fun activities planned, we will still be learning and finalizing grades/completing unfinished work.

Weather Changing
As we transition into warmer weather please make sure your child is coming with the appropriate weather conscious clothing. We will continue to go outside as long as the weather allows above 40 degrees F and below 100 degrees F.
PLEASE LABEL YOUR JACKETS AND ACCESSORIES.
Transportation Changes
Transportation changes must be sent to FESTransportation@aubreyisd.net by 2PM daily
DO NOT EMAIL YOUR STUDENT'S TEACHER.
Car Line
To help transitions in car line we ask that please make sure that your car tag is visible in the window. Then once your child has entered your car to please remove the car tag from the window. This will allow us teachers to quickly see who is loaded and who we still need to be. Thank you
Snack and Water Bottle
Third grade does have snack during the day. Please send your child with a healthy snack and water bottle each day. We are always accepting of snack donations for those who don't bring one. Please make sure you are aware of food allergies in your classrooms. Thank you!

- Read 20 minutes a night
- practice spelling words
- review math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Sign your child's agenda each night and look for notes
- Review your child Guided Reading Folder (green folder)
Aubrey ISD Dress Code
