Happy March!! We're excited to celebrate Read Across America Week with our Wild West E-Book Fair! This is a great way to get our kids reading and support CMCS at the same time!

March is also Women's History Month! Get started with this fantastic Scholastic book list to shop with during Book Fair! Then head over to The Smithsonian National Museum of American History online to check out their exhibition "Girlhood (It's Complicated)" which celebrates and explores how girls have changed history in politics, education, work health, and fashion!

March is also National Developmental Disabilities Month which highlights the many ways in which people with and without disabilities come together to form strong, diverse communities. In order to build a more inclusive world for all, we need to ensure that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are seen, heard, and valued. Let's take a minute to remind our students that it is never okay to use the r-word, use disability as an insult or comparison, or make jokes at the expense of others. instead, we will continue to listen, learn, and take action to make our CMCS Community more inclusive for all!

CFF will be holding an online auction at the end of April/beginning of May. We are relying on donations from our community with connections to local businesses, as well as from parents who can offer "party book" style event donations. More details will be coming in the next few weeks about the kinds of donations we need, but if you have a connection or are interested in joining the auction committee, please reach out to auction@welovecmcs.org

This historic yearbook is going to be awesome, and you'll want to keep to keep these memories of this hopefully-once-in-a-lifetime year!

• Yearbooks cost $50, but order by April 1st for a $10 DISCOUNTED PRICE of $40!!
  

• Order forms will be going out electronically March 1st, and a physical form will be included in both March and April distribution.

• Yearbook will be sold through Fresh Schools

• 300 books will be available on a first come-first serve basis!

CFF elections are coming up May 17-23 and nominations open April 19-25. As we have many parents graduating, we need to fill numerous positions or to serve as co-officers on the Board, as well as looking for new committee chairs. This is great time to start thinking about how you might like to get involved!

Directions for how to nominate yourself or someone will go out in March, but if you are interested in learning more about a position, talking with a current Board Member about their job, shadowing a Board Member, or just want to learn more about what is involved, please email cff@welovecmcs.org or Learn more about the positions and eligibility requirements.

Also, an election ballot will be sent to the email of each parent/guardian, teacher, staff member registered in Fresh Schools. If your spouse/partner is not registered, but you want them to be able to vote, then please be sure to register them in FreshSchools BEFORE the election begins!
