AESD Family Letter
August 3, 2023
Dear AESD Families,
Welcome Back to the 2023-24 School Year!
I hope this letter finds you and your loved ones in good health and high spirits. As we eagerly anticipate the start of the new academic year, I am excited to extend a warm welcome to both our returning families and those joining our Anaheim Elementary School District community for the first time.
We have spent the summer months diligently preparing for the upcoming school year, and we cannot wait to welcome our students back to our schools once again. The 2023-24 school year promises to be a year filled with growth, learning, and exciting opportunities for every child.
The first day of school for the 2023-24 academic year is Thursday, August 10. On this special day, our staff and teachers are excited to greet our students and begin this new school year. Whether your child is returning to continue their educational journey with us or is stepping foot in our schools for the first time, we assure you that they will be in the caring and capable hands of our dedicated educators.
On Monday, August 7, each school is hosting an Early Access event where new and returning families have the opportunity to visit the campus before school begins and learn about the available programs at the school. More information on Early Access will be provided by your child’s school.
To ensure a successful and safe start to the new school year, we are continuing measures to address ongoing health concerns. We have COVID-19 test kits available at all schools and we encourage you to test your child prior to the start of the school year to ensure the safety of all. If your child tests positive, please notify your school office staff. Rest assured that we continue to monitor and implement guidance from local health authorities to prioritize the well-being of our students, families, and staff.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. We are committed to making this academic year a remarkable and rewarding experience for each and every one of our students.
Here's to a successful and enriching 2023-24 school year!
Sincerely,
Dr. Christopher Downing
