Walking School Bus
Join Kid Commute — a Walking School Bus initiative (WSB)! A WSB involves a group of students walking together under the supervision of dedicated adult Walk Leaders, creating a "bus route" children can join and walk to/from school together. The Walking School Bus is in need of volunteer Walk Leaders to walk with the group one morning a week (~8-9am). To register your child(ren) and volunteer as a Walk Leader, email walkingschoolbus@scyofbc.org.
Participating in the program reduces your environmental footprint, gets your child(ren) active in the morning, avoids school zone traffic, and is a great way to be part of your school community.
This initiative is made possible by funding from TransLink, provided as part of their regional Youth Travel Strategy. The program is being delivered by us at SCY in partnership with the District of North Vancouver and the North Vancouver School District.
