Community Connection

I had a staffing meeting last week and decisions are starting to be cemented in - we really need to have accurate numbers registered for next year! After Spring Break, we will start running reports and sending individual reminders to parents to check in about registration status.

Our Butterfly Garden has been hit hard by the recent freezes and needs some love!

We will be having a clean-out day this week that families are welcome to join!

We will be working on Saturday, March 5 from 9:00-12:00. Come for the whole time or just part of it. Bring any tools that you have or just come with a willingness to pitch in.

Wow, Zilkerland! You shared your love, creativity, and kindness and helped service Austin in a big way! Thank you!

We also want to give some extra appreciation to Michelle Arvesen for helping organize the projects across grade levels. Plus all the other parents who helped deliver the items to each organization. From staff to the community, this shows what teamwork can do!

• Books and bookmarks for BookSpring
• Food and cards for Caritas of Austin
• Hygiene kits and cards for Caritas of Austin

We wrapped up our No Place for Hate Puzzle PEACE Project and it now has a beautiful presence in our main hallway. Every student created a puzzle piece to represent their identity. When we put all the pieces together, it created something amazing!

We have a new family at Zilker who recently moved to the country and could use some Zilker love and support! They were not able to bring a lot of their belongings with them so we have created a wish list with some items that could help them during this transition. Items new or used are appreciated!

These third grade artworks have been chosen to represent Zilker in the AISD Districtwide Art Exhibition. We are celebrating National Youth Art Month From March 1 - to March 31, 2022. We are so excited to host this art exhibit in person again this year!

The Zilker art studio is collecting used bubble wrap mailers to package students ceramics projects! If you have any from things like amazon packages please send them with your students!
