High School Assignments
The district has pulled the address from your PowerSchool account and your student has been assigned to their boundary high school in PowerSchool. If you are not sure which school that is, you can use the Boundary Map locator, found here. To apply for your student to attend a different West Ada High School (this does not include RHS, MMACHS or MTCHS) you must complete the In District Transfer Application by February 1st. The In District Transfer application will not be available after February 1 (this is new for the 23-24 school year. Please go to the West Ada Enrollment page for the application and additional information. If your student is planning to attend a school not in West Ada, please notify the office.

Advanced Opportunities Nights
Students and parents can learn about school specific advanced opportunities, concurrent credit and honors classes, Advanced Placement, Fast Forward Funding, BSU Associate Degree and Sophomore Start Programs (varies by school), and Career Technical Education. Flyers with additional information from each school are listed below each school's event date/time.

Career Technical Education Open House
February 13th from 5-7 pm at Meridian High and Renaissance. Please refer to the CTE Night Flyer for which programs will be highlighted at MHS and RHS.

High School Registration
Students will receive their registration packets on Friday, February 24th during PE. Students need to complete their registration forms by Friday, March 3rd. Students will enter course requests in Class Choice during PE on Friday, March 3rd.

Galileo is hosting the Idaho Regional Botball Tournament and JBC Challenge day on April 22nd. We are in need of judges. You do not need to have any robotics or coding experience! We will train you when you arrive. Please consider supporting our school's robotics program at this exciting event!

If you have a couple of hours during the day that you can spare, we have some paid noon duty positions that need to be filled. Hours are from 11:30-1:00. Tuesday and Thursday are our greatest needs. If you are interested, please contact the Galileo office.

A great big thank you to everyone who brought items for January's Baked Potato and Chili Luncheon! For February, we will be doing a Valentine's Day themed soup luncheon on Friday, February 16. We are so grateful for those who volunteer their time and talents to help keep the Galileo PTA going strong! Most of our board positions are nearing the end of their terms and we are looking to fill the following positions for the 2023-2024 school year:

We have started a new iReady Math incentive program for our K-5 students. The program is called 3..2..1.. BLAST OFF! Each grade level is represented by a grade level rocket on our bulletin board. For every iReady lesson they pass they will earn a gallon of gas for their grade levels rocket. They also have the opportunity to fill their crew's food storage containers on their rockets by earning 95% or better for the accuracy of their passed lessons. Once their grade level has earned 1200 gallons of fuel and they have filled their 5 food compartments they will get to build a real rocket in their Engineering class and launch them! Please encourage your student to work on their iReady math and help their grade level earn their chance to build rockets!

In an effort to keep our students safe and our campus secure, we ask that you please close the gate behind you when you enter the school grounds using the walking path.

Please help us be good neighbors by respecting neighbors' driveways and access as you park near Galileo. Also, please don't park and leave your car unattended in a line that is moving. If you need to leave your car unattended, use one of the parking spots in the main parking lot.

Please remember that Galileo is a closed campus from 8:30-4:30. This includes the walking path and playground areas. Visitors who haven't checked into the office will be asked to check in or to leave campus.

Please check the lost and found for any missing items each Friday. Leftover items will be donated periodically.

If you are planning a vacation and your student will be absent three or more days please fill out the notification of absence form found here. This form does not excuse the absences, but will help keep everyone informed.
