Dress Code Update
As we prepare students for post-secondary education and/or the workforce one of our goals is to model and teach students how to dress appropriately for a work environment. We would encourage you to review the information before doing your back-to-school clothing shopping.
Cell Phone Usage
Teachers will determine the learning mode for their classroom each day and clearly post the mode within the classroom. This includes their expectations for cell phones, Chromebooks, and seating arrangements. Students are expected to review and comply with these procedures daily. Students will be reminded one time of the cell phone expectation within the classroom, if the issue persists, the teacher will not collect the cell phone. The teacher will send the student to the office so that the phone can be secured in the office and picked up at the end of the day. A full description and the details of this policy can be found on page 19 of the handbook.
Backpacks and Lockers - Major Update
Students will not be permitted to carry backpacks from class to class. Students may carry a backpack or bag to school and after school, but not between classes.
During the first two weeks of school, we will assist students in planning for and managing their time between classes to collect the things they need for their next class. We even added a planning document to the student planner to help with this change!
Feminine hygiene products are stocked in the bathrooms for student use. If students are in need of carrying additional medical/hygiene supplies they will need to contact Mrs. Conley to create a support plan.
This policy can be found on page 20 of the PHS Student Handbook.
Parent/Coach Communication & Adult Event Expectations - NEW
1. Parent/Coach Communication (24-Hour Rule)
2. Adult Event Expectations
One of the school goals this year is to promote a safe, healthy, and positive environment at PHS, which includes our extra-curricular events and activities. We want to make sure that all athletes, coaches, and spectators exhibit good sportsmanship and learn from a positive environment. Both of these policies were adopted during the 2021-2022 school year, but we do want to call attention to them again for this school year. Failure to comply with these policies will result in minimum of suspension from games/events. Please help us to set a good example for our students!
