Beginning Band
Beginning Band students have all gotten underway and should be practicing on page 6 in their Essential Elements books & online. Let's all try to aim for 15 minutes per day.
Everyone needs to activate their child’s E.E.I. account so they may get started using the online interactive tutorials and Karaoke. Emails with instructions were sent home last week. Or: go to this link on the band Web Page : http://ogschoolband.weebly.com/essential-elements-interactive.html
Parents, I will be sending home a letter to give you all the details of your child’s first band concert experience. Until then please be sure to have your son or daughter practice the songs on pages 5-7. With a little effort, we will try to play up to #39 by the concert.
Concert Band
With the concert coming up, please make sure that your student has all the necessary accessories for their instrument. Reeds and valve oil can easily be bought at Libertyville Music. Please make sure your student is continuing to practice at home. We are starting to sound very good and we only want to keep moving forward! Practice builds confidence! Don’t forget to put the December 5th band concert into your calendar.
Symphonic Band
We are starting the new music for the winter concert cycle. The Solo Ensemble is Saturday, Feb. 23rd. If your child takes private lessons, please ask your private teacher for song suggestions.
Jazz Band
Parents, It’s time to look forward to the most fun night of the year!
This year’s Jazz Café will be on Thursday, Dec. 13th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Junior High cafeteria.
This is a relaxed, small setting concert held in the cafeteria with fun music, artistic decorations, and best of all, desserts and coffee! Please save the date and set a reminder on your favorite device! Parents, to make this a special night, please email Mr. Jones at jones@ogschool.org if you can help out in any way such as decorations, baked goods, coffee, etc.
