According the 2022 US News and World rankings, John Champe High School is ranked in the top 7% for best high schools, top 5% for college readiness rank, and top 3% for college curriculum breadth rank in the country!! Additionally, according to Niche rankings, JCHS is ranked as the 26th best high school in Virginia placing us in the top 8% in the state! We are extremely proud and grateful of our JCHS community!!!

Bus Route Reconciliation
Route Reconciliation was completed to make bus routes more efficient; updated routing information is available for families in Parent Vue. New routes went into effect Tuesday, October 25 for the AM routes.

Family and Community Engagement Night
John Champe is hosting a Family and Community Engagement night at JCHS in collaboration with Lightridge High School. The main goal for this event is to support our EL families in finding resources that will be helpful to them as well as offering food and raffles for purchase throughout the night. Doors are open to all of our JCHS families.
Did you know...?
NVCC offers LCPS 11th and 12th grade students the ability to take two online courses per semester to start their college transcript.
- Tuition for up to two courses is free.
- Students have to pay for textbooks for certain courses.
- These courses only count for credits on a NVCC transcript, not an LCPS transcript.
- LCPS staff does not provide academic support or counseling for these courses.
Students have until December 31, 2022 to register. The flyer below includes the link to the NVCC Early Online College website to answer any questions.

Senior Yearbook Ads
THE QUEST invites you to include personalized messages in your graduate’s senior yearbook. These special tributes can come from parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, pets, etc. They can be purchased for graduates, groups of friends, and/or entire teams or clubs. Advanced Placement Exams
If your student is enrolled in an AP course, please click here for information to plan for the AM exams that take place in May. The registration deadline is November 4.

Student Assistance Services (SAS) Newsletter
LCPS offers countless resources for families, including a newsletter from Student Assistance Services (SAS). Check out their most recent edition HERE, which includes links to previous programs and newsletters. the image below comes from a SAS discussion guide on talking to teens about substance use.
Step Up Loudoun Youth
The Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition presents middle and high school students an opportunity to identify an issue in their communities and implement a solution as they contribute to the world around them. This year, students will create a team video due March 1, 2023, and then the top 20 teams will present live to judges on March 22, 2023. The Finals and Awards Ceremony will be on April 13, 2023, where the top 10 teams will be invited to present for cash prizes. Registration for the Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition opens on October 3, 2022. Sources of Strength
The John Champe High School Sources of Strength (SOS) Program would like to thank Chick Fil A South Riding for catering for the SOS Peer Leader Training on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. Our Sources of Strength Program appreciates the continued partnership and support Chick Fil South Riding provides in the Dulles South Community.

Congratulations to Mya Townes for her selection to the Women's Youth National Training Camp! We appreciate your leadership both on and off the field!
Faculty MAGIC Makers
Congratulations to Ms. Peredo and Ms. Navarro for their selection as MAGIC Makers at JCHS last month. These two superstars were recognized at the last faculty meeting for their steadfast contributions to the school's Spanish Honor Society. They work with students to create beautiful displays, participate in community events like the Back to School Bash, and spread their love of language at special Society events like the Noche Latina they hosted last Friday. Gracias!
CHARGE Up!
Clubs
Activity buses run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, leaving campus at 5:30pm.
Service
Students can access the service recording log and view ideas for community service in their Knights Give Back Schoology course for their graduating class.
Athletics
Take note of the upcoming spirit day when JCHS takes on Freedom:
Friday, November 4 is USA Out! Come to school and the game decked out in red, white, and blue.
Winter sports tryouts start November 7. Students must have a valid VHSL Physical submitted tothe Athletic Office along with all online paperwork on the registration website in order to tryout.

College representative visits continue in the CCC through December 8. Students can sign up for specific visits in Naviance (instructions are in student email accounts) and view upcoming visits via the ongoing announcement button above.
