Ending Your Year in Canvas
As we end our first year of using Canvas, this newsletter will focus on the following topics to support your transition from 2022-2023 to 2023-2024.
Utilizing Canvas Commons
"Commons is a learning object repository that enables educators to find, import, and share resources. A digital library full of educational content, Commons allows Canvas users to share learning resources with other users as well as import learning resources into a Canvas course."
For whom would Canvas Commons be a viable option?
- Teachers who want to have a place to share resources with colleagues over multiple years.
- Teachers who will be changing grade levels or subjects that want a safe space to retain their old curricular resources.
- Teachers who want to save specific resources in a library to retrieve for lessons in the coming school year(s).
How can I use Canvas Commons to organize my resources?
Teachers can share assignments, modules, quizzes, pages, discussions, and full Canvas courses to Commons. Users can choose to share just with themselves, a group, HCPS, or the full Canvas Community.
