Pirates Post
Week of Nov. 8th
Message from Principal Drew...
We have a short but busy week this week at PCHS. WorkKeys boot camp for all students taking the Fall administration of the WorkKeys test will take place on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday during WIN time this week. Students will review and refine applied math skills, graphic literacy, and workplace document comprehension. Boot camp will help each student prepare to do their best on the WorkKeys exam which, if completed successfully, provides multiple levels of certification for students as they seek employment opportunities in their future. The actual test will be administered on Tuesday November 16th.
Parents this is a reminder that students will not attend school on Thursday or Friday of this week. Thursday is Veteran's Day and the entire staff and student body thanks every veteran for their service to our country. Friday is a teacher workday so students will not attend school on this day.
We have four weeks left before final exams. Now is the time to make up missing work and to get ready for final exams. Please check with your teachers to make sure you are up to date on all of your assignments.
Congratulations to our Men's Soccer team on a fantastic season that was capped off this week with the first playoff win in school history. Great job by our players and coaches. Congratulations also to our Football team on their playoff win on Friday night. The gridiron Pirates will host Riverside on Friday, November 12, in the second round of the playoffs. Let's pack the stadium and support our football team. One last congratulations to Jayden White and Coley Drew for their participation in the NCHSAA cross country state championships this past Saturday.
