Title:
Building a Model for meaningful partnerships between Delaware Schools and Public Libraries
Full Proposal Description (for use in the online scheduler)
The need for developing strong partnerships between school districts and public libraries is a critical MUST. Participants will hear how Delaware Public Libraries and Colonial School District are working to develop a true statewide model to protect the role and importance of school libraries. Participants will take away important lessons learned from our project of connecting school and public libraries and key benefits occurring from this powerful collaboration including a recent multi-million dollar and multi-year investment from our Governor and State Legislature to expand our model statewide.
You will leave the session with new ideas and strategies for implementing a collaborative model (see objectives below).
The learner will be able to identify three key issues impacting school libraries. (Funding, Support, Lack of Supervisor District, Weeding, Data, Collection Development)
The learner will be able to accurately discuss two key points advocating for school and public library partnerships.
The learner will be able to create two strategies for the development of a collaborative model between school and public libraries.
The learner will be able to successfully share strategies, techniques, and lessons learned from school and library partnerships.
Thank you Representative Baumbach!
Thank you to...
Now we need YOU to customize YOURS and send to us so we can show how many great school librarians we have in Delaware!
