Principal's Message
Eagle Family,
We have reached the final weeks of the school year. We have so much to do with only a few days remaining. Please take a few minutes to review your student’s course averages today. It is imperative that students maintain the required 70 average in all classes to remain in the magnet program. Check attendance notes too. Attendance issues could block your child’s return to the program next year.
Students should remain attentive these final weeks to ensure they do not miss important opportunities to select courses for next year, tryout for athletic programs, donate used uniforms, pick up ordered yearbooks, and so much more. I will work hard to keep you informed each Sunday evening with weekly updates. We have almost reached the finish line parents.
Spread the word that we still have a few slots available for the upcoming school year. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns.
Mrs. Taylor-Jackson

Celebration for Rhys
Our school presented the check to her on Friday, April 15th in a joyous drive-through celebration, which featured the entire student body lining our streets with many heartfelt messages of hope and support. Thank you to Mrs. Jackie Martin, Mr. Brian Roberts, and Mrs. Tamara Woods for making this happen! Also, a huge thank you to the Lavender Azalea Trail Maids that were able to help celebrate this occasion with us.
Spring Fling
Members of Baker High School's Key Club volunteered their time and assistance to help our Spring Fling run smoothly! They ran the concession stand, staffed the games and booths, and performed all manner of behind-the-scenes tasks! They contributed tremendously to the success of the event, and it was great seeing so many former Clark-Shaw students!
A big thank you to PTA!
These ladies are to be commended for throwing a terrific Spring Fling event! The students, faculty, and staff had a great time, and we were amazed at what they pulled off with their small group of dedicated volunteers. We look forward to involving more parents into the PTA next year. Be sure to sign up with them during summer registration on June 6-8.

8th Grade Crossover Ceremony
The 8th Grade Crossover Program for Clark-Shaw Magnet School will be Friday, May 20, 2022 at 8:00 am in the gym.
The purpose of this annual event is to celebrate and recognize the achievements of our 8th grade class as they move on to the next stage in their education.
Students are asked to abide by the following dress code:
Girls – Sunday best. No strapless or clear strap dresses will be allowed (not even with a jacket, shawl, or sweater covering). There will also be no dresses allowed with low-cut backs, tight-fitting silhouettes, low-necklines, or bare-midriffs. Dress length must follow school guidelines as stated in the Student Code of Conduct (at least 3 inches from the knee; may be tea length). Girls may also opt to wear dress pants. We encourage all girls to wear shoes that are comfortable for walking.
Boys – Sunday best. They may wear dress shirts and pants. Jackets and ties are optional. No athletic shoes or jeans.
All students also have the option of wearing their school uniforms on this day as well.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. and will last approximately one hour. It is advisable to arrive early as seating fills quickly. Parking is available behind the school. Parents/guardians are welcome to check their students out to celebrate. Check-out sheets will be available in the gym lobby before and after the ceremony. So that all parents/guardians may have the opportunity to see their students, we ask guests not to bring balloons into the gym during the ceremony.
If you have questions, please contact the school at 221-2106.

Immunization Clinic
Also parents, any student that has medication at the school with the nurse in first aid must have it picked up no later than Thursday May 26, 2022. This is the last day of school and we do not keep medication at the school after this date. If it is not picked up, it will be destroyed per MCPSS policy. Also parents, please remember that the students must have new chronic ailment forms, diet prescription forms, and updated PPA forms for medications when the new school year starts. These forms can be found on the Clark-Shaw website by click here (link) or can be sent home with your student from the nurse. Please remember that students cannot have medication at school without the proper documentation from the doctor.
I hope everyone has an enjoyable summer. I look forward to seeing all of the Clark Shaw Eagles on the first day of school on August 4, 2022. Go Eagles!!
