Message from Mrs. Reams

Randolph Families,

We had an eventful end of the week at the Reams household. I ended up needing emergency surgery for an appendicitis. All went well and I am now recovering. Please reach out to Mrs. Demas at kdemas@glnd.k12.va.us and Mrs. Ambrose sambrose@glnd.k12.va.us for any immediate concerns in my absence.

You may have noticed the lack of phone communication on these Sunday messages. I will only be calling on an as needed basis, for emergencies and big events! You can access everything you need via email, text and Facebook. We hope this helps streamline communication for our families.

We will be adjusting our calendar in the upcoming weeks, as we are limiting indoor events where we need to gather for extended periods of time. We will gather outside as we are able. Our Back to School Night and other fall events will likely not take place this year in their traditional fashion. However, our biggest and most important upcoming event is our ROADRUNNER WARRIOR DASH on October 8th!! SAVE THE DATE for this outdoor fundraising event! More details below!

Fall Picture Day! Dress your best! Students will remove their masks for the individual picture and then return to their class with their mask on. Lifetouch information has come home with all students.

Please do not arrive prior to 2:15pm in the car rider line - thank you!

Need to make a transportation change? Please email the teacher AND roadrunners@glnd.k12.va.us using the subject line TRANSPORTATION. All communication must be received by 12:00pm to honor the change. Please call the office for special permission in an emergency situation if it is after 12:00pm.

Need to report an absence? Please email the teacher AND roadrunners@glnd.k12.va.us using the subject line ABSENCE.

PTA Roadrunner Warrior Dash!

Randolph Elementary School PTA is holding our annual Roadrunner Warrior Dash. Yes, we’re BACK! This event promotes physical fitness while building a sense of community. It challenges students to run, crawl, and climb their way through a challenging obstacle course. It is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year for our students and teachers.

The Warrior Dash is also our largest annual fundraiser. Students request family and friends to sponsor them by donating directly to the school. 100% of the money raised goes toward community events, playground equipment, classroom supplies, cultural arts programs, science and enrichment experiences for our kids.

The PTA is fortunate to have local businesses sponsor the day of the event with everything needed. This includes providing students with t-shirts, a healthy snack, water bottle, and various other materials. Sponsors will be recognized on the back of t-shirts as well as through our various other platforms (ie.water bottles, facebook page, web page) to show our appreciation.

Your child was asked on Sept 10th to help raise money to support their school. We have information on how you and your family can donate, a sample letter for reaching out, and a form for each student to track their donation contact progress.
