Animate Shape Outlines in Keynote
Did you know that if you turn on the outline of a shape in keynote, that you can animate it? It's true! Watch the video below for a demonstration, and feel free to share with students!

Create Master Slides in Keynote
You can create your own custom slide decks, and backgrounds in Keynote. This is a great tool when sharing template slides with your students. This can also help you if you need to share information with students but don't want them to move or delete things from the slides!

Lesson Inspiration: Using Videos to Tell a Story
Utilizing the Everyone Can Create Teacher Guide for Early Learners to build lessons for your students is a great place to start if you are wanting to add some creativity to your classroom. Check out some of the great ideas below to incorporate Clips into your lessons!
Math
Guess the Shape
- Build a guessing game with videos. Introduce a shape by making a video of yourself describing it—for example, “I have many sides” or “I roll.” Then add a title using posters to reveal the name of the shape. Record one clip for each shape you describe.
Literacy and Literature
- Design a movie-style trailer to promote a favorite book that your classmates may also like. Introduce the main characters, the setting, and your favorite part of the story, without giving away the ending. Use posters and stickers to add story details to your video.
TV Commercial
- Create a TV commercial for a product or service that you like, such as sneakers, snacks, or toys. Think about words that describe your product. Describe what you’re selling and explain what makes it special. Include the words you thought of in posters and stickers. Consider using Live Titles when recording your Clips video.
History and Social Studies
- Creating a personal timeline helps you understand your own history. Think about some important moments in your life, starting with the day you were born. Think of other important and memorable days, like the birth of a sibling, first days of school, or fun vacations. Record one clip per event. Use Live Titles, posters, and stickers to help tell your story.
- Record a video showing a few important places in your neighborhood. Record one clip per place. Add Live Titles to describe your observations about the people you see and the things that happen there. Consider adding stickers and labels that help describe each scene.
Science
- Use Clips to make a video depicting the life cycle of a butterfly, frog, chicken, or even a plant. Record one clip per stage and use Live Titles, stickers, and labels to explain each stage.
- Use Clips to describe one or more actions you can take to help the earth, such as recycling or walking to school. Explain what you and your class can do and why it’s important.
Accessing Speed grader for New Quizzes in Canvas
Have you tried using new quizzes in canvas? Do you have individual students questions that you need to grade by hand? Maybe you need to manually adjust the points on a particular question. Use this video to guide you on accessing speed grader for new quizzes.

Add A "Module Complete" page to your eLearning Lesson
When working through a module, students are sometimes tempted to click that "next" button wherever they see it. When students are in an eLearning setting it may be a good idea to end your eLearning lesson with a Module Complete page. This will let students know that their work is finished. It will also prevent students from moving on to other modules that you may have published in your course. A Module Complete page is available to import into your course from the Canvas commons. Filter your search options by "Duneland Approved Content" and you will see the page available for import.
Unfavoriting Courses in Canvas Dashboard
A new Canvas update allows you to "unfavorite" courses directly from your dashboard. You will still have access to these courses in your list of all courses. Click on the image for a better view.
Favoriting Resources in Canvas Commons
Using the Favorites tool in Canvas Commons will allow you to quickly access eLearning attendance activities without searching for them each time. Favoriting will also allow you to import audio, video, images, and documents directly into assignments without going to the Commons each time.
