Message from Mrs. Reams
Randolph Families,
Congratulations to our 5th grade students who presented the instructional report at the School Board Meeting this past Tuesday. We are beyond proud of your poise and confidence, as you shared the journey of YOUTH UNITED with so many people. Want to know more? Follow us on Twitter @YouthUnitedGLND.
We know that there is a lot of sickness going around. From ear infections and strep throat to the stomach bug and the flu, please take care of yourselves. Should you have a sick child, please remember to call the school or email roadrunners@glnd.k12.va.us within 24 hours of your student's absence for it to be considered excused. Our counselors are beginning to reach out to families where students have been chronically absent to provide support as needed. In addition, always reach out to your child's teacher about missed work that can be sent home, should they feel well enough to complete it. We hope everyone stays well this 4-day weekend!

Gifted and Talented News
How can students be referred for gifted screening?
A teacher or a parent may refer a child for gifted screening. If your child exhibits gifted behaviors and is performing above level, you or your child’s teachers may refer your child as a good candidate. The spring testing window opens February 1st and closes February 28th.
Go to Goochland County Schools Gifted Page. Here you will find the Gifted Referral Process and the Initial Referral Form. This form is due to Randolph Elementary by 3pm on February 28th.
Please contact egemmill@glnd.k12.va.us with questions.
Attention families of 4th & 5th grade Reading Olympians:
The GCPS Reading Olympics Tournament is scheduled for March 30th during school hours. Please continue to encourage your child to read from this selected book list and participate in the Reading Olympics module on Canvas. More information about the tournament will be going home soon. Thank you for your help!
Let's make it a great week,
PTA NEWS!
Thank you for all your support for the “Souper” Bowl last Monday, and our 2nd Stock the Lounge event of the school year. Both events were a success, and the staff enjoyed all their treats!
If you missed our meeting earlier this month, the minutes are posted online (https://randolph.memberhub.com/w/minutes) and the meeting was also recorded if you wanted to catch up on what we discussed (https://www.youtube.com/@weRrandolph/playlists)!
We have one more restaurant fundraiser coming this Spring. Mark your calendars for March 29th. Chipotle will be having a Randolph night (Short Pump location only) between 4pm & 8pm. More details to come closer to the event.
As always, you can join the PTA at any time. The link below will take you to our membership page. Your Annual Dues will go towards the school, and there is no additional mandatory commitment!
