Dear CRES Families,
Happy New Year! We hope all of you had a wonderful holiday full of great times with friends and family. We are ready and very excited to see our Cubs back at school Wednesday January 3, 2024! As I look toward a new year, I can honestly say I am so thankful I work at this school with all of our special students, families, and staff. I look forward to what this new year brings!

Standards of Learning (SOL) Growth Tests in Grades 3-5 January 24 and 25, 2024
As you may recall the Standards of Learning (SOL) tests have moved to a growth model. You can find more information about these tests at this Virginia Department of Education link:
Students in grades 3,4, and 5 will be taking the January SOL Growth Tests on Wednesday and Thursday, January 24 (Math) and 25 (Reading), 2024.
CRES Six Day Specials Rotation
As you are aware, CRES is on a six day rotation for our specials classes. Each week we will share the upcoming days of the rotation with parents. Here are the rotations for the next two weeks:
- Wednesday, January 3 Day 5
- Thursday, January 4 Day 6
- Friday, January 7 Day 1
- Monday, January 10 Day 2
- Tuesday, January 11 Day 3
- Wednesday, January 12 Day 4
- Thursday, January 13 Day 5
- Friday, January 14 Day 6
Your child's teacher will share with you the specific 6 day specials rotation for their class (which day is art, music, PE, library, and technology).
