It is February 1 - do you know where your resolutions are? Many of us set new goals at the start of the new year. We have a clean slate to start a new good habit or end a bad one. In our homerooms we have set new goals for the class and are working on achieving them. One can see evidence of this every day and it is just another way that shows how Indian Grove is a great place to learn.

A Message From Kelly Diaz, District 26 Director of Food Services

Thank you to those who filled out the Food Service Parent Survey! Look forward to Spring menu changes in March that may reflect your feedback!

Did you know…?

All students are required to take a minimum of 1 fruit or vegetable with their breakfast and lunch.
We don’t have deep fryers. We use our ovens for baking.
The Food Service department is required to maintain a non-profit status with a separate revenue and expense ledger from the district general fund.

Indian Grove and Euclid Students are Pen Pals

Fifth graders from Indian Grove and Euclid are writing letters to one another in order to get to know a student from the other school. They will write letters back and forth and will then get to meet their pen pal at outdoor ed!

Survey results will help us to better understand the conditions at your child’s school and to guide improvement. For the survey to be validated, we need at least 20% of our parents to take the survey.

4th/5th Student Survey

From February 6 to February 17, students in 4th through 8th grades will also be completing the 5Essentials survey in their classrooms. As a parent or guardian, you do have the ability to opt your children out of participating:

Safety First

Please watch the parking lot entrance and exit for students crossing!

Keep your eyes on the road, not your phone!

Also, please call the office if your child is changing how they normally leave school, i.e. bus, walk, car pick up.

Winter Weather

If the wind chill is below 10 degrees Indian Grove has indoor arrival and indoor recess. If the forecast is below 10 for the entire day, you can leave snow pants and other outdoor clothing at home that day.

Kindergarten Registration Night for Prairie Trails

Kindergarten Registration Night is on Thursday, February 23 at Prairie Trails School from 4 to 8 p.m. This is for all parents/guardians of incoming kindergartners, including those who have other children in the district. You can reserve a timeslot by visiting rtsd26.org/kindergarten.

2nd Grade Required Dental Forms

All 2nd grade students are required to turn in a dental exam form signed by a licensed dentist before May 15, 2023. Dental forms can be accessed online under Parent resource/Health Services. If you have any questions, please contact the health office at (224) 612-7505.
