Students will be able to identify biases they have regarding careers and how these biases can hinder their career planning

Extending the Learning at Home: Talk with your student about nontraditional careers for students and the role bias plays in the workplace.

Lesson Focus: Entrepreneurship

Students will become familiar with entrepreneurship and the various aspects of this career pathway

Extending the Learning at Home: Have your student share what they learned about entrepreneurship and ask them to research a famous entrepreneur. Have them report back on what they learn.

In Demand Local Careers

The demand for Paralegals and Legal Assistants is expected to grow by 16.1% by 2024 in Lancaster County. This career requires an associates degree with an entry salary of $32,860 and a median salary of $47,870 in Lancaster County.

Local Postsecondary Training Option

Harrisburg Area Community College offers a certificate and associates degree in Paralegal Studies. Other regional colleges like Widener University and Central Penn College also offer associates degrees in the subject.
