Attention Parents of Grades K, 2 and 6 Students - Dental Exam Reminder
FINAL REMINDER:
IF A CHILD IN GRADE 2nd OR 6th FAILS TO PRESENT PROOF BY MAY 15TH, THE SCHOOL MAY HOLD THE CHILD'S REPORT CARD UNTIL:
- The child presents a Proof of School Dental Form
- The child presents a Dental Exam Waiver Form
- The child presents proof that a dental exam will take place within 60 days after May 15th
- The child presents an exemption based on religious grounds, following Illinois State Board of Education Administrative Rules
Attention Parents of 8th Grade Students-
On Tuesday, April 24, from 12:00 - 1:00pm, the 8th grade students will be getting their Libertyville High School photo ID pictures taken during study and lunch. If your child is not planning to attend LHS in the fall of 2018, please email Kathy Azzato - azzato@ogschool.org. Thank you.
Student Council News
Save the Date: Our last Junior High dance is Friday, April 27th from 3:30-5:00pm. All sixth through eighth grade students are invited. More information will be announced soon.
The Variety Show: Thank you to the PTO for allowing the Student Council to run the concession stand again this year. Please stop by and visit us during the 4:00 pm or 7:30 pm shows to purchase a snack! All of our fundraising efforts benefit our selected charities.
Elections: Any 7th grade student who would like to run for an elected Student Council office for their 8th grade year should meet in Mrs. Evan's room (108) on Tuesday, April 17 during your recess time. This is informational only, so you do not have to commit to running at this meeting. Swing by, get the information, and we will chat a bit about the offices and responsibilities.

Elementary Book Fair
The elementary BOGO Book Fair is coming April 24-27th and includes items for K through 7th grade. Every item will be "Buy one, get one FREE!" If you would like to volunteer to help students shop at the fair, please, sign up through this link.

Pre-Pack School Supplies online ordering begins April 30th
The Oak Grove PTO will be having our annual pre-pack school supply fundraiser again this year. When you order a pre-pack, you get all of your child's school supplies for the 2018-2019 school year in one pack AND it is sent directly to your home. Field Day
We are excited to announce that Field Day 2018 is a go! Thanks to all of the families that have offered to volunteer for the morning. More information about the day will be shared in the coming weeks. Thanks again...it will be a great day for all!

Variety Show Reminders
The Variety Show is Friday, April 20 at 4:00 pm and 7:30 pm. Tickets are on sale now through Revtrak for $8 and must be purchased online by April 19th or it's $10 at the door. Sign in to RevTrak to order https://ogs.revtrak.net/
For parents with participating students - Shout-Outs and the Dinner/Picture Fee are due today. Please make sure you login to RevTrak and pay the dinner/picture fee ASAP. Shout-Outs are an optional PTO fundraiser. https://ogs.revtrak.net/

Curriculum Corner
If you haven’t had a chance yet, come by the district office and take a peek at our proposed reading materials, they are still set up in the office today for your review. Feel free to stop by.
PARCC testing starts tomorrow for all students in grades 3-8. Please remind students to get some rest, eat a healthy breakfast and to bring their devices charged with working headphones. Students in grades 3-5 will take assessments Tuesday through Friday morning. Students in grades 6-8 will take assessments Tuesday through Thursday afternoon.
Wednesday night, April 11th at 6:30 pm, the Standards Based Grading committee will be answering questions as we work through the research regarding our potential decision to move toward standards based grading in the middle school. Feel free to join us in the Pat Patt gym.
