Pride in Self, Pride in Community, Pride in Learning
We have some great artists (and an amazing art teacher)!
Please check out the amazing artwork from K-12:
Freshmen have worked hard on their float for Pig N Pickle!
First grade had a busy room this week! Some of Mr. Visser's Speech and Drama students read stories to them, and Ms. Hopkins began classroom lessons in the elementary.
Principal's Corner
Dear Parents and Community Members,
Another week has come and gone and students are continuing to learn great things in their classes. Your student(s) have amazing teachers, and I am so thankful for every single one of them!
Over the past couple of weeks students in grades K-8 have been working on their I-Ready Diagnostic testing in reading and math. Testing has now been completed, and results from this diagnostic test will be sent out next week. The information being sent to you will show the following:
The overall diagnostic score for both reading and math
The grade level your student is currently sitting at in both reading and math
Notification if your student will require a reading success plan this school year based on their reading diagnostic.
The reading success plans are new this year and are a result of Senate Bill 681. This bill requires any student who is one or more grade levels behind in reading to be on a reading success plan (RSP) to help improve their reading skills. Students who require a RSP will receive additional information about this from their teacher.
Just a few reminders for the next couple of weeks:
This Saturday is Pig N Pickle
Tuesday 9/19 is the FFA Alumni meeting
Wednesday 9/20 is the monthly board meeting
Friday 9/22 is the FFA Truck and Tractor Pull
As always, if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out. My door is always open and I am always willing to help however I can. Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Kyla Kirtley
Principal
It was picture day today! It's always fun to see the students dressed up for their pictures!
Mr. Isom's STEM class is learning problem solving skills while building soapbox derby cars.
