News for ESC
Employee Assistance Program
This is the time of year, when it seems like spring will never come. It can be a time when we get bogged down with work, snow, and cold. This can be a good time to "reset" habits and patterns to achieve better balance and greater happiness. Attached please find tips on "spring cleaning".
The EAP helps staff manage the stresses of everyday life or even work-related concerns. The EAP provides a range of free services including legal consultation, child care and elder care referrals, financial consultation, pet care consultation...just to name a few. This confidential service is designed to help staff with any issue affecting overall health, well-being, and life management.
Staff can access these services via email, on the web, via mobile app or via phone (855-775-4357) 24 hours a day/7 days per week. This short video provides an overview of the many services the EAP can provide.
Student Health Practices in Cafeteria
Per the Health Services Department, we will need to attend to health practices such that students wear disposable gloves when wiping tables. Hands should be covered to protect from the cleaning solution and germs. No student should put their hands into the trash to retrieve items. Students must be permitted an opt-out option. Lunch supervisors, in collaboration with the Assistant Principals please review the practices at our school and make changes as necessary.
ESY/DOI Summer School Opportunities
As we continue to plan for our summer programs, we want to remind you that there are two opportunities available for staff this summer: Student Services Extended School Year (ESY) for students with IEPs and Department of Instruction (DOI) summer school for students at our Title I eligible schools. If you would like to teach during one of these programs, please click on one of the links below to express your interest in teaching at one of the programs. If you have already completed this form, there is no need to reapply.
ESY - Special Education
DOI - General Education
SEL “Snack”
Rita Pierson reminds us to believe in, connect to, and develop relationships with our students in her TED Talk, Every Kid Needs a Champion.
D15 Staff Self CARE Club
“Self care is giving the world the best of you, not what’s left of you”. Continuing on our self care journey, self-compassion, balance, and reframing negative thinking into positive self talk will be the topics for our second meeting. The mission of the Self CARE Club is to practice Compassion, Awareness, and Reflection Everyday.
Our next Self CARE Club meeting is Tuesday, March 3rd, at ESC from 4:00-5:00. Please RSVP if you are planning to attend. ***This is a reschedule from February 25th***
No need to have attended January’s meeting! All D15 staff are welcome!
