Welcome back, Deleon Dragons! And to those joining us for the first time this school year, a warm welcome to you as well! My name is Jennifer McIntyre, and I am in my third year as principal of our fantastic school. "Heroes Learn Here" is our school theme, and it definitely describes how we feel about our students.

We take pride in displaying our school spirit! Every Friday at DeLeon Elementary is spirit day, and we urge all staff and students to wear a DeLeon Elementary or VISD shirt. Our DeLeon PTO offers an excellent selection to choose from if you need to purchase spirit wear.

Parents and guardians can walk their students to class during the first week of school from August 9th - August 11th. Starting Monday, August 14th, no visitors will be allowed beyond the front double doors.

As always, thank you for all your support toward your student's learning, and we are excited to see all their achievements in the 2023/2024 school year!

Hello Deleon Dragon Family! My name is Xochitl Alvarado, and I have moved from the 4th-grade hallway to pursue a dream of mine: being your child’s music teacher. I have experience singing and playing violin for over 20 years. You can find me in my spare time playing in a mariachi band on the weekends. I hope to build our music program this year by teaching children the love of music, singing, and playing instruments. Let’s get our groove on Dragon Family!

Greetings! I'm Ms. Prosen, the new Librarian at DeLeon Elementary. I'm delighted to be here and eager to inspire young minds through the magic of books. I'm committed to creating a welcoming space where students can explore new worlds, embrace their curiosity, and develop a lifelong love for reading. We'll focus on library orientation, rules, and book care during the first few weeks of school. Together, we'll embark on an exciting journey of imagination and learning through the pages of wonderful stories.
