Message from Mrs. Gilbert & Mr. Ramalho
This week we celebrated Administrative Professionals Day. We are so fortunate to have Debbie O'Neill and Kim Sepe on our main office team. They both go above and beyond everyday and contribute greatly to our South Row community.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Thank you so much to individuals who are involved with the luncheon and a special thank you to our amazing staff!
Monday we kicked off a schoolwide Movement Challenge which will also include Fitness for Cure. Thank you to Student Council volunteers, parent volunteers, and Mrs. Brown for helping organize this fun event. In our first week students logged over 15,000 movement minutes.
Massachusetts Chiefs of Police have dubbed April 29th as “High Five Friday” so we had a special High Five Friday with the CPD today and we will have another High Five friday with the Chelmsford Fire Department on Friday May 6th.
Respectfully,
Terri and Jayson

Dear South Row Families,
I hope everyone enjoyed April vacation!
Just a quick reminder that health screenings will take place next week!
HEALTH SCREENINGS May 3rd, 4th, and 5th
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health Regulation requires students be screened at Chelmsford Public Schools at certain intervals. In elementary school, your child will be screened for:
Hearing: Grades *K, 1, 2, 3
Vision with stereopsis testing: Grades *K, 1, 2, 3
Visual acuity: Grade 4
Height/Weight Grades 1, 4
*Kindergarten: Upon entering kindergarten ,or within 30 days of the start of school, the guardian shall present to school the Health Care Provider documentation from within the previous 12 months that the child has passed a vision screening. If your kindergarten child is missing a hearing or vision screening, it will be done at school.
Please make sure your student brings or wears their prescribed eyeglasses at school for the vision screening. Alternatively, if your child is currently under the care of an optometrist and you would like to opt out of the vision screening, please email me at vandevoordts@chelmsford.k12.ma.us
If you choose to have your child opt out of any of these screenings, please email me to exclude your student from participating. Please email me opt out requests by Monday May 2nd. vandevoordts@chelmsford.k12.ma.us
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
Warmly,
Nurse V.
Walk to School Day - This Wednesday!
FITNESS FOR CURE IS THIS WEEK! - Thursday 5/6 at 7:55AM - South Row Basketball Court
From the Art Room...
Volunteers Needed - Message from Mrs. C - Hi South Row Families! Finally, we can have an all-school South Row Annual Art Show!! On Thursday May 26th there will be an "opening" for families to come and see their student's artwork displayed in the front hallway and the gym here in the school from 6:00-8:00 PM. In order to have 1 piece by each student displayed I will need some volunteers! I have created a sign-up genius for the first step which is to have each student's artwork matted and labeled. I also added the slots for helping in the school to set up for the week of May 23. Thank you in advance for helping make this happen! Love Mrs. C. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0D4CABAA22ABFC1-south.
Association of Chelmsford A-cappella Event
Save the date! Movie Night at South Row - Friday June 3rd - Flyers will be sent home soon!!

May PTO Meeting
Please note that our May PTO meeting has been moved to Monday, May 9th. We will be voting on the proposed Bylaw amendments as well as electing next year's officers. As always, the meeting link and related documents will be posted to our meetings page as soon as they are available. We hope to see you there!
Basket Raffle and Friday the 13th Takeback
Thanks to all who have donated items and especially to those who volunteered to coordinate baskets for their classes, this week the baskets have been assembled!
No doubt you have heard your kids talking about the amazing towering baskets that they have been eyeing during lunch. Baskets will be on display for the kids to be able to see in the front hallway. Presale raffle tickets will be coming home in backpacks at the beginning of next week, and you can see the baskets in person and purchase tickets during the Friday the 13th Takeback event on Friday, May 13th, 4:30-7:30. We will have food trucks, a photo booth, and fun on the playground.
Staff Appreciation Lunch
Thank you in advance to everyone who has signed up to help with the staff appreciation lunch. This one really takes the whole village! We have a few more spots to fill on the signup. Please take a look and see if you can help out. https://signup.com/go/KVRKsOB
Request From the Movie Night Committee
Does anyone happen to have a DVD copy of Clifford that the Movie Night crew could borrow? Movie Night is on June 3rd, and they would need the DVD a little in advance to do a test run. Thank you in advance!
