INTERESTED IN CREATING THE FIRST EMERSON HIGH SCHOOL YEARBOOK?
The Counseling Corner - Course Requests
There may be multiple changes reflected in your course requests for next year for a number of reasons. Please wait until April to let Mrs. Smith know if you see what you think is an error. Keep in mind the following possible reasons your requests in HAC do not mirror your original choices:
1. You do not have the prerequisite for a course. Check the course catalog for prerequisites – Academic Guide and Course Catalog
2. You were not accepted into a program (lists are coming in all the time of those who have been accepted and those who have not).
3. There was not enough interest to form a class.
4. You did not have enough classes requested, so courses were added to make up a full course load. You’ll have the opportunity to change them in April with a Google Form sent to you in an email.
Don't worry! We know many students have courses that you are thinking may not be offered at Emerson. If there are not enough students who request a required course we will work with the district to ensure your student has access to the course they need. We will not have any specific information on that until we begin working on our schedule. We will communicate with any students this impacts. We will take care of your student!
