This week...
It's hard to believe we're halfway through this half term already! Time is whizzing by in school! Rehearsals for our two nativities (Nursery and Reception/KS1) are underway and we have begun to prepare for our Advent service and KS2 Christmas carol concert too! Please check below for the dates and times of our upcoming events.
As the days grow colder, there may be families who find it a struggle to keep houses warm and keep tummies full. We are committed to ensuring all of our families enjoy a safe and happy winter, so if you are struggling, please let us know and we can discreetly point you in the direction of support.
We hope to see you in school for some of our various upcoming events over the next few weeks, so you can see first-hand how we...
Live, love and learn with the Lord.
Mrs Ronicle
Virtue - hope
One of our children was awarded a diamond certificate this week. This wasn't for showing hope, but for inspiring hope in others. When the class were asked what they would spend money on if they were rich, this boy (without any hesitation) explained that he would give his money to people who don't have a home or food or warm clothes. His answer fills me with hope about the wonderful little people we are nurturing!
Advent Service
Our Advent service will be held in school on Wednesday 6th Dec, at 9:10am.
The whole school will be involved and we will have singing, readings and prayers.
Please come along and help us to celebrate the start of Advent!
Christmas Pantry
We are delighted to be holding a Christmas Pantry event in school on Monday 11th December at 2pm. Please see below for details and ask at the office for free tickets. There will be free refreshments, music, arts and crafts. Food bags will be given to all attendees!
Road Safety
Thank you to PCSO Joe Spooner, who visited our Y2-6 children yesterday to lead an assembly on road safety. He discussed the Green Cross Code and ways to stay safe nearby roads.
He also explained to the children that e-scooters are classed as a form of motor vehicle and that you need a license to ride these on a road or a public place, and that any riders must purchase insurance.
Dodgeball Tournament
Well done to our Year 1s, who had a fantastic time at a dodgeball tournament this week. They began the tournament with some skills sessions to develop their technique, before they moved on to playing full games. They represented St Joseph's beautifully.
Nerf Festival
We are really proud of the group of children that represented our school in the Nerf Festival this week! We came 5th! Above all, our children showed fantastic determination, team spirit and consideration of others. Well done!
Christmas Cards
It was great to see so many orders for cards and other festive items featuring your child's artwork. We have been notified that they have arrived so will be sent home with your children today - look out for them in school bags!
Attendance
This is a gentle reminder that we have a responsibility to check where our children are each day! If your child is too unwell to be in school, please let us know (we need to hear from you every day they are absent) by leaving a voicemail on the school phone line or sending us an email. Otherwise, we have to ring you to check.

This week, we have been learning...
St Nicholas (Nursery and Preschool)
St Francis (Reception / Y1)
St Bernadette (Y2)
St Patrick (Y3/4)
St Therese (Y5/6)
This week, we have started writing our own space adventure story. Together, we planned out and wrote Chapter 1: Lift Off! Our character begins their adventure in a rocket taking off into space. We watched a video of a space rocket launch, then got ourselves into position to imagine what it would be like.
Christmas Fayre
We are hoping to see you on Sunday for the Christmas Fayre!
Sunday 3rd December, 10am-2pm, in school!
