Utilizing ongoing assessment is necessary to support student progress. Watch the video below to understand the what, why, and how. Watch how the teacher collects data and students hold themselves accountable for their learning. Watch how formative assessment and summative assessment are used in this class.
Our Educator Pathway continues to support Visible Learning and students being able to own their learning and success.
Many schools are turning toward student-led conferences, where the student shares their school work and discusses progress with family members. These types of conferences can…
- Provide powerful opportunities for students to advocate for their own learning
- Allow students to demonstrate responsibility for their academic performance
- Encourage students to think critically about their own abilities and achievements
- Help students develop skills they’ll use long after they’ve finished school
Data has shown that parent and guardian involvement in a child’s education can lead to better academic outcomes, improved attendance, and higher graduation rates.
Here are five reasons why parent-teacher conferences are essential:
1. Understanding the child’s strengths and weaknesses
2. Building a positive relationship between families and teachers
3. Encouraging parent involvement
4. Addressing concerns and issues
5. Developing a plan for academic success
Congratulations to Nativity School, St. Raymond School, St. Philip School, Ecole Notre Dame Des Victoires for registering last week!

Come engage in your life as catechists, parish catechetical leaders, volunteers, and Catholic people in the Archdiocese of San Francisco as we celebrate our Eucharistic Revival with the theme “Talitha Koum” – Mark 5:41.
We are challenged in these times to arise and bring Christ’s light to our darkness, words of comfort to sorrowing, peace in places of violence and to witness our baptismal call.
As Jesus asks that bread be given to the little girl may we find nourishment in the Eucharist to go out and be better disciples of Jesus – bread broken and shared.
Sunday Gospel Challenges - Living Our Faith
Justice Challenge - September 24, 2023 • 25th Week in Ordinary Time
On September 27 we honor the life of St. Vincent de Paul. He founded missionary communities of men and women, both dedicated to the needs of the poor and vulnerable. Today the Vincentians continue his legacy, as do the thousands of lay people who belong to their local St. Vincent de Paul Society. Your challenge this week is to research your parish chapter of St. Vincent de Paul, or the nearest local St. Vincent store or center. Find out what you can do to help. It might be joining your parish chapter, or donating time and money to this ministry, or getting the word out to others about the great work which St. Vincent de Paul chapters accomplish. It might be going through your closets and donating quality clothing or household items to the local St. Vincent de Paul store. Whatever you decide to do, remember that you are joining a network of people who keep St. Vincent’s legacy alive by following in his footsteps.
Care for Creation Tips - September 24, 2023 • 25th Week in Ordinary Time
“For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. After agreeing with the laborers for the usual daily wage, he sent them into his vineyard.” —Matthew 20:1-2
Two thousand years after Jesus told this parable, the plight of day-laborers remains precarious. Produce in America remains relatively cheap compared to other countries because much of it is grown and harvested by poorly paid immigrants, exposed to toxic pesticides daily without proper protection. Small farms and organic farms have a better track record of treating their workers—and the land—more justly than giant corporate farms. This week, shift some of your purchasing power to smaller growers and producers.
