Email Moving to Google on Monday, June 15th!

IF I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH GOOGLE, HOW DO I PREPARE FOR THE TRANSITION?
The technology department has built a website with numerous training videos and other resources to assist staff with the transition to Google. To access that information, click here.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Q: Can I login to Google using my new email address right now?
A: No, the switch to Google will happen on Monday, June 15th. Please wait until that morning to login to Google with your new email address.
Q: Will I have a new email address?
A: Yes, all email address will change. Your email address will change to Firstname.Lastname@plcschools.org
Q: After the switch to Google, will emails sent to my @paplv.org email forward to my new email address?
A: Yes, all emails sent to your current @paplv.org email will forward to your new @plcschools.org email.
Q: What if I already have my personal Google email on my phone? Will an iPhone allow two Google email accounts on my phone at the same time?
A: Yes, you will just follow the instructions and it will add a second email address. You can also name each account so you can differentiate between your personal and work accounts. Click here for step by step instructions for an iPhone.

Signing In and Out
Signing in and out of your new Google email is easy as 1, 2, 3!
- On June 15th, go to google chrome and visit google.com
- Click on the blue “Sign In” button in the top right hand corner of the screen
- Enter your new email address and click next. If you are already signed into a personal gmail account you will have to log out or click add another account.

Do you know an outstanding employee in Papillion La Vista Community Schools? Do you know someone who goes the extra mile for PLCS students and staff? Do they deserve recognition for their hard work and dedication? Then nominate them today for a Greatness Employee of the Year Award.
Greatness awards are designed to recognize outstanding PLCS employees. Nominations for PLCS employees are accepted in four categories: elementary teacher/specialist, secondary teacher/specialist, rookie of the year and classified staff member. Nominations for PL Schools Foundation/Kids Club staff member will be accepted soon. Thanks to the funding from the Papillion-La Vista Schools Foundation, the elementary teacher, secondary teacher, classified staff member and foundation/kids club staff member winners will receive a cash prize of $5,000 each. The rookie employee will receive a cash prize of $2,500.
Applications are accepted from now until Monday, June 15, 2020. Nomination criteria and forms can be found on the District website at www.plcschools.org/GreatnessAwards, under the Be Known for Greatness section. Don’t delay, nominate a PLCS employee today!

Papillion La Vista Community Schools has implemented a crisis hotline for students and parents to use FREE of charge. The helpline is staffed 24 hours a day 365 days a year with trained Boys Town Counselors. Are you concerned about your child? Do you have family issues and need some extra support?
