USDA has issued a nationwide waiver, allowing Coppell ISD to offer meals FREE at no charge through December 2020 for all elementary school campuses and virtual learners picking up bundle meals.

Beginning on October 1, 2020 Coppell ISD will begin providing free meals to students as part of the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) program. Sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), this program will allow any student in elementary school to receive a free breakfast and lunch meal in the school cafeteria, with the option to purchase a-la-carte items.

Additionally, the District will offer meal bundles for all virtual learners (PK-12) at no cost. Bundle meals may be picked up on Wednesdays at Austin Elementary from 4-6 p.m. The meal bundles will include 5 breakfast, 5 lunches and a choice of chocolate or white ½ pint milk (10 milks will be provided). Heating & holding instructions will be included so that families can prepare the meals at their convenience. Sign up is required weekly at go.coppellisd.com/CurbsideOrderForm.

Coppell ISD’s middle schools and high schools do not participate in the federally funded program and therefore meals will be charged as normal in those cafeterias; however, middle & high school students who are learning virtually are able to pick up a meal bundle from the curbside location at no cost.

A Note from the Coppell Education Foundation

We are continuing to sell items in our Coppell Education Foundation Webstore. These items include face masks in kid and adult sizes, sanitizer holders, and desk shields. The deadline to order is 10/16 for a delivery date around 10/26.

Reminder: 2nd Nine Weeks Learning Mode Commitment Form

You all should have received an email from the district regarding the commitment process for the second grading period, which begins on Tuesday, October 13th, and goes through Friday, December 18th. Remember, you will only need to fill out a commitment form for the second grading period if you are CHANGING your commitment decision for the second grading period. If you are wanting to keep the same mode of learning your child has now, you do not need to fill it out. The deadline for commitments for the second grading period is Wednesday, September 30th.

Reminder: Our first Parent Teacher Organization/PTO Meeting is this Tuesday, September 29th. We will meet virtually via Zoom, and we hope you all can join us. It will be a great time to hear about our school year ahead and ways you can get involved and support Town Center. Everyone is invited!
