Hatherly Happenings

I think everyone at the Hatherly School, tall and small, are excited about returning to school full time on Monday. We will have some bugs to iron out as we proceed through the week but I am sure it will be a great week! If your child seems hesitant coming to school full day, please reach out to one of us. It is easy enough for us to meet your child at the door with a reassuring smile.

Perseverance was a big word around the Hatherly School this week. On Wednesday I read aloud the story She Persisted. The story highlights the accomplishments of thirteen women through history. I am thrilled to report I received letters from students in Mrs. Cramer's room following the story. Each student wrote about a time they persisted through a difficult time to meet with success.

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, April 14th from 1:15 pm - 3:15 pm and 4:15 pm - 6:15 pm via zoom. You do not need to re-register for spring conferences. You can use your same login that you created for the December conference. Here is the link to the conference page: https://hath.schoolappointments.com/admin/?action=login-form The Conference Appointment Calendar will open Wednesday, March 31st at 7:00 pm to choose your appointment time. Your child's teacher will send out a zoom link for the conference prior to April 14th. We look forward to meeting with you to further our partnership in the education of your child!

Ms. K's class measured the side lengths of the hopscotch and the four square outside. Then, they multiplied the side lengths to find the area of each of these spaces!

Fourth grade was able to attend a virtual field trip through the Peabody Museum this week. The program is called Igloos to Adobes. Our guide, Andy, took us on an amazing tour of the museum. The students learned about the native people of North America and how they used the natural resources of the region that they lived in to make food, shelter, and clothing. Thank you so much to Hatherly PTO for funding this amazing opportunity for our students!

Mrs. Flynn and her husband, Chris, welcomed their beautiful daughter into the world on March 19th at 7:21 a.m. weighing in at 6lbs 8.5 oz and 18 inches long! Both Mrs. Flynn and daughter, Eliza are doing well!

Bouncy balls, whiffle balls, jump ropes, hula-hoops! All for recess next week!
