Community Update from Principal Griffin
Dear Erie High School families,
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in the learning and growth of our students. We have had a great week at Erie High School, and we are looking forward to two more outstanding weeks prior to Thanksgiving.
Last week on Friday, October 26th, all SVVSD faculty, staff, and families received important reminders regarding our response to inclement weather. Additionally, you can continue to access important updates regarding inclement weather on the SVVSD website dedicated to the topic. While the forecast looks relatively warm and dry for the next ten days, we know that Colorado weather can be unpredictable and quickly change. Please review and maintain understanding of these important updates from our SVVSD team regarding school and inclement weather, and make plans with your child(ren) to have safe transportation to and from school in the event of snowy weather. It is important that we are all prepared for winter weather, and that we work together to sustain student learning throughout our winter months.
Thank you to the students and families that attended our fall College Night on the evening of November 1, 2023. It was a great turnout from our community and our guests had the chance to visit with over 35 colleges and universities. Next week, we are hosting the College Funding Coach on Tuesday, November 7th, from 6:00 - 7:30 pm in the Tiger Den. This event is free and open to all students and families that are interested in learning more about funding post secondary expenses. You can register for the event using this link.
Congratulations to the Erie High School volleyball team on a remarkable regular season. The team finished the season 17-6 overall and 12-1 in conference, earning the #10 seed in the CHSAA 5A tournament. As a result, we are thrilled to host a 5A regional here at Erie High School on Friday, November 3rd. Erie will welcome Denver East and Cherry Creek for regionals, with the Tigers playing Denver East at 3:00 pm and Cherry Creek at 7:00 pm. Good luck to the Tigers in this regional tournament - if they win the regional tournament, they will earn a spot in the 12-team CHSAA 5A state championships.
I hope that you and your family have a great weekend. Thank you for all that you do to support your child(ren) and our school.
Sincerely,
Josh Griffin
Erie High School Principal
EHS Booster Club Membership
Please consider joining the booster club by becoming a member. Scan the QR code and see which level of membership fits you best. Your donations help the booster club fund not only Erie HS sports, but also student clubs and activities, teachers' classrooms, and so much more. Our school community is growing fast and we need to be able to fund all the great things that make Erie HS so special. We would also love to welcome parents to our booster club meetings. Please look to our website: www.erieboosterclub.com for our meeting times and locations, as well as all ongoing activities we support and how you can join us in that support.
EHS Booster Club Volunteer
The Booster Club needs your help! Please scan the QR code and sign up to volunteer for the Booster Club. There are many different opportunities to choose from. However, right now we are in dire need of help with managing the concession stands or we run the risk of not having concessions consistently for all future sporting events. We need people who can help with regularly stocking supplies (store runs), dropping off/picking up the cash register items to the volunteers running the concessions, as well as balancing the drawers at the end of each session. These tasks can be broken down into at least three (3) different volunteers. The Booster Club wants to continue doing great things for the school but in order to do that we need parent volunteers. Please consider being part of what makes Erie High School great.

Ben Egan
Ben Egan is an outstanding musician (and individual) whose presence is well-known throughout the Performing Arts department. Ben has actively participated in as many music-related opportunities as possible.
As an electric bass player, Ben has held the Pit Orchestra together in the EHS Musical productions Fiddler on the Roof, Charlie Brown, The Sound of Music, and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
Ben is currently the section leader of the double bass section in the EHS String Orchestra. Ben was one of three SVVSD double bass players to be accepted into this year’s SVVSD Honor Orchestra. Ben also plays the tenor saxophone in the Marching Band and he is frequently called upon to perform with 5130 (EHS Jazz Choir).
Ben is an absolute inspiration in the music department. His passion for music is infectious, motivating all those around him to strive for their creative best.
Abby Whiteley
Besides being an incredible leader for our marching band AND learning a new instrument 3 months ago, Abby is the principal and euphonium soloist in the EHS Wind Ensemble. The group's premiere performance on October 25th kicked off a new era of musical excellence at EHS. Abby personifies “Tiger Pride” in the performing arts wing at Erie High School.
Honors Orchestra!! 🎻🪕🎼
Congratulations to EHS Orchestra students Vittoria Pugina ('26) and Isabella Zak ('25) on being selected to perform at this year's Western States Honor Orchestra Festival at UNC Greeley! Only 116 string players from Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah are accepted to perform at this festival each year. Vittoria placed within the top 3 out of 64 accepted violinists, which provides her with the chance to participate in a master class conducted by University faculty. This Saturday, November 4th at 3PM, you can see both students in the Violin 1 section of the Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. Link to tickets here.
