Carpentry Collaboration
The Carpentry program collaborated with the Age Friendly Communities of the Lower Kennebec to design and build three concrete chess and checker tables to be installed in Downtown Bath. The students created the molds, mixed and poured the concrete, and created the inlaid tile boards. There will be an intergenerational opening event on Saturday, November 6th with refreshments and an opportunity to play a game on these new tables!

Visit from High Hopes Farm
This week we had Ross Nichols from High Hope Farm in Bristol come in and break down a pig that he raised on the farm. The morning and afternoon culinary classes each got half of the pig. Ross is a graduate of the Bath Tech Culinary Arts program. He taught the students the different cuts of meat and about the ethical ways of which free-range farm animals are treated vs animals that are raised in an intensive environment. It was a very educational and fun lesson!

Guest Speaker, Kristen Nawrocki, in Cosmetology
Cosmetology I & II had the pleasure of hearing industry insight and some pretty amazing stories from local salon owner Kristin Nawrocki of Eco Beauty Bar. Kristin has worked around the globe in the film and tv industry as a cosmetologist, perfecting her hair and makeup skills, and recently decided to settle back in Maine and open her own salon. Thank you, Kristin, for sharing your wealth of information with our future cosmetologists!
