A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
This week we were visited by our friend from the Phippsburg Fire Department. Shana Ferrara visited classes and demonstrated various firefighting equipment and gear. She went over the basics of fire protection and fire safety.
Remember that next Friday, October 27th, will be our second Spirit Day. Students and staff will dress in black and orange to get into the spirit of Halloween. Please remember, NO masks or costumes are permitted at school. We will kick off the following week with PTA providing smoothies on Tuesday, October 31st, to help us celebrate Halloween. This is a favorite tradition among students and staff!
We are looking forward to our first-ever Glow Run (FLYER) fundraiser on November 2nd. The Glow Run takes place from 5:30 to 6:30, and adults are invited/encouraged to participate with their children.
Please remember to let us know if you are planning to attend our Friends and Family Thanksgiving Feast on November 15th. Be sure to complete the form and send it back to school by November 2nd. Because of limited seating, we ask that there be only one adult guest per student; younger siblings are welcome.
Finally, be on the lookout for a note from your child's teacher about signing up for parent-teacher conferences. Conferences, which are held in person whenever possible, will be on Monday, November 20th, from 12:00-6:00PM.
OCTOBER IS FIRE SAFETY MONTH
We send a HUGE THANK YOU to Mrs. Shana Ferrara, who spoke to students about fire safety and showed them what a fire fighter looks like in their gear. Students also enjoyed the hand outs and fire hats.
BUS DRIVER APPRECIATION
We’ve chosen October 27th as our Bus Driver Appreciation Day, though every day we can show how much we appreciate them by being polite, safe and always following the bus rules. Feel free to write or draw your driver a note of appreciation and thanks for getting us safely to and from school every day. Thank you Miss Megan, Mr. Vande and First Student, for getting our students safely to and from school every day! We appreciate you! 😃
HOLIDAY MEAL AT PES
Your child is invited to bring a special guest to join us for lunch on Wednesday, November 15th. Students are invited to join their younger PES sibling and are welcome to share their special guest. Please order ahead, by November 2nd. Order form and details are HERE, and a paper copy will come home in today's Thursday folder. Though not stated in the form, Pre-K will have lunch at 11:30, too.
