Message From the Principal

Hello Pirates,

We ended the week with a fun Town Hall meeting. We had 35 students who raised over $100 for the Kids Heart Challenge and they got to pie staff in the face. Much fun was had by all-even if I don't want to see whipped cream for a while! :)

Happy Easter and Passover to everyone who celebrates. We hope you have a wonderful long weekend with family and friends.

Calling All Future Marauders for Kindergarten 2023-2024

We are excited to welcome our newest marauders to Kindergarten Round Up on Tuesday, April 11th from 6:00-7:30. There will be an informational session, a chance to meet the teachers, a craft, and a bus ride! Incoming kindergarteners will receive a yard sign and t-shirt! We do not know if we will have a Young 5's program at this time. Stay tuned!

Kindergarten enrollment for the next school year opened Tuesday, February 21. There is a pre-enrollment link on the website. This pre-enrollment must be complete before calling the school to schedule an appointment. If you are School of Choice Intra District, you must enroll at your building of residence not your preferred school. If you are School of Choice Out of District, you must enroll at the Board Office with Karyn. Kindergarten screening will take place August 22 and August 23. You will sign up for a time during enrollment at the building. We can't wait to meet our newest pirates!

Run Club Starts This Week!

We start next week, April 11th and 12th.

Our runs/walks are weather dependent. If it is raining/snowing, we will NOT be running. We will send out a cancelation post by 7:30 AM of that day to inform you of a cancellation.

All students need to arrive at 8:00 AM. Please have your child dress for the weather-layers are good! Your child must be in SOCKS and TENNIS/GYM SHOES. Your child should have a water bottle with his/her name on it and a quick snack to eat after (ex: crackers, a banana, an apple.). We will cool down for a few minutes before lining up for the start of school. A snack and water is very important to refuel before the start of the day.

Super Important-No Apple Watches or Phones in testing sessions per Michigan Department of Education Rules

3rd grade dates:

ELA: April 17th, 18th, and makeup 19th

Math: May 1st, 2nd, and makeup 3rd

4th grade dates:

ELA: April 24th, 25th, and makeup 27th

Math: May 1st, 2nd, and makeup 4th

5th grade dates:

ELA: April 17th, 18th, 19th

Math: April 24th and 25th

Social Studies: April 20th

Science: April 27th

Make-ups: April 21st, 26th, 28th

Snacks will be provided by PTO.

PTO Nominations

A big thank you to Amy Cox (President), Michelle Corder (Vice President), and Amy Foster (Treasurer) who have served our PTO for many years. With graduating Parsons' students and new jobs, these ladies have chosen to step down for next year. We are looking for a new President, VP, and Treasurer. Amy Cox and Amy Foster will still be around to help anyone transition into their new role. If you are interested, please fill out the nomination form!
