Williamston Primary School

Parents please be reminded that school starts promptly at 7:55 and our Tardy bell rings at 8:00. It is important that you make sure that your child arrives to school on time to ensure that they are not missing any instructional time. Also parents not only is it important that our students arrive to school on time but that they present at school daily so they can receive their maximum amount of instructional time. We want to ensure that all of our students are academically successful and in order to do that they must be present at school daily and arrive on time. Also parents if you have recently changed your contact information please contact WPS with your new information so that we may update parent contacts within PowerSchool. Also parents please make sure that if you have any transportation changes to be made for your child that those changes are sent to school in writing. All changes will need to be done by 12noon. Kindergarten:

• We will have our Valentines Party on Monday, February 14, 2022.
• Please check your child book bag for more information.
• Please continue to study sight words and read nightly.

First Grade:

• Next week, we will continue our measurement unit.
• We will be learning about Valentine’s Day and the importance of dental health.
• We will be exchanging Valentine’s on Monday, February 14th. A class list should’ve gone home with your child.
• Please be reminded of the importance of reading daily, as well as studying sight words.
• An extra mask and water bottle should be sent to school with your child daily.

Second Grade:

• Continue to read AR books and complete the reading log. Make sure students have a water bottle and extra masks each day.

• Students may bring Valentines to pass out to their peers on Monday. If you have signed up to bring any items for a party, please make sure they are dropped off to school before 12 pm.
• Any students participating in the “Gallery Walk” for PTA must turn in their project on Monday, February 14, 2022. You can refer to the letter sent home last week for project criteria.

• 1st and 2nd grade students who were able to check out library books this week, make sure you are enjoying reading your books. Make sure you know what day you go to the library and be ready to bring them back to library class next week to swap them for a new one! • February 17 is Random Acts of Kindness Day. Choose at least one way that you can show kindness this week!
  

Happy Valentines Day!

If you have not done so yet, and wish to please register for the COVID testing on our school website. It is found under the “News” section and is titled Free COVID Testing. Go to the parent/guardian link and follow the commands listed. You register one time for the entire school year, Students must by symptomatic in order to be tested and it is a PCR test, not rapid.
